Symmetry tool for adobe illustrator 2018
There is a symmetry tool for adobe photoshop 2018. But if you add the tool also in the illustrator we can make some great vector designs. Because sometimes we need to copy an object from a design and paste it as a mirror of the object. if you kindly add the tool it will be very helpful for the designers......
Hi Everyone,
We have added this in January 2021 release (version 25.1).
Please see this link to know more: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/repeat-patterns-desktop.html
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback

Its a shame there isn't more requests for this feature. 9/10 times i use illustrator im creating symmetrical assets/icons etc. Alchemy was fantastic for this and corel painter even had kaleidoscopic live painting, I would love to see this feature in Illustrator. Reflection is ok but quiet a pain to set up /expand/merge/ cleanup etc.

In Corel you have the possibility to change an object symmetrically both horizontal and vertical.

A reflection tool exists, but we want real-time feedback. Look at Pixologic's Z-brush—live symmetry tool. When a user activates the tool, all changes, drawings are placed and kept. It eliminates the need to copy and place and provides a better sense of how the shapes are/will be mirrored. Thanks!

I'm also a heavy Z-brush user. I often sculpt people with symmetry active.(I basically want their live symmetry tool for Illustrator.) Illustrator has a mirroring tool, but I am often undoing and redoing symmetry because I'm doing some guess work as to how shapes will mirror. I would like to be able to focus on one side, but see my curves, shapes, mirrored in real time as I'm drawing them. I do a lot of portrait work and character design using illustrator. I may be naive to whether or not this feature exists, but I don't believe it does. I think it would provide value in visualizing end results early in the drawing process and really speed up drawing work-flows Thanks!

Build a rig, as Margaet says (it provides realtime update), or buy MirrorMe, as you say. Don't turn AI into bloated version of itself with tools that already there.

You can hack this up by applying a Transform effect that makes rotated copies to a layer and drawing stuff on it. Draw a huge shape with no fill or stroke, and its center where you want the center of rotation to be.

Choose how many axis - if they overlap or not and then the ability to manipulate content like MirrorMe after the drawing is done.
Realtime updates in the mirrored sections is critical to the mirrored drawing process.
