Star and Spiral live shapes, with on-canvas controls, better tools
Better Star tool, with side widgets to change the number of points, the rays’ length, etc.
Possibility to re-edit anytime the number of points in a star.
Also, the possibility to adjust the thickness of the star "arms".
(like Freehand was doing long time ago...)
Star is now a live shape and available in the all the public builds starting from V 28.3.0.
You can now customise your star in any way you like; may it be changing the no of sides, corner angles, or even the corner radius.
Please try it out and let us know what y'all think !

1. Please highly consider including Star tool properties (e.g. Radius 1, Radius 2, Star points) in the Transform panel for the star shapes.
2. Having the star as a Live Shape and its properties configurable at anytime means it's easier to track and amend a star without having to recreate a new one.

I don’t understand why the star tool is not a “live” shape on the iPad version. I need to be able to change the number of points, as I am able to do with computer versions. Instead, with this iPad version, I have to layer two 5-point stars and then move the points over with the direct selection tool and then draw two additional points, select everything and then merge the shapes to create a 12-point star. That’s silly. There shouldn’t have to be so many steps to create a 12-point star, and it still didn’t come out as symmetrical as the ones I can create on the computer version. If I needed to create a 4-point star, it would be complicated as well. This needs to be fixed.

The properties of the polygons can be changed in the properties window (radius or side length, number of sides, rotation), so why not make this available for Stars and Spirals. It seems that this would be particularly useful for stars (#points, inner radius, outer radius, rotation). I hate having to create a new star just to adjust the properties of the star. Inkscape lets you do this, so why not Illustrator - even Silhouette Studio has this feature. The same goes for spirals. I especially like the way Inkscape handles spirals - it's much more useful than the way Illustrator handles them.

A tiny triangle to change this would be amazing. Spent hours looking for it after assuming it would be there as with the polygon tool, and then an hour with your adviser.

YES!!! Please make the star AND the spiral Shapes editable AFTER the fact, like they are in Inkscape!!

The star tool definitely needs to be editable after the fact. Inkscape does this, so why can't Illustrator do it? Spirals should be editable after the fact too (again, Inkscape does this ... and they have far better spiral options too).

Can we add the properties to the star tool like the Polygon tool?
Will be great. Not urgent but great! -

A way to apply roundness to star shapes and randomness to the with of spikes on star shapes and the ability to edit length of spikes as a ratio rather than two diamiters, and the ability to edit these settings with the star tool after creating the star shape.
or in other words, simmilar, if not the same, as how it works in the free program inkscape

Since AI allows to create Live Shapes now, there definitely should be a Live Spiral (and Archimedian too).

It could be useful to have an option for adding segments, or changing decay, especially if it serves as a path for text
