We were able to ship support for Art and Calligraphic Brushes in our 2.0 release. But there is more to be done for Import / Export of (atleast) these Brush types. We’re keeping this thread open for your feedback. Thank you!

Hello all,
This functionality is now available in all the public builds starting V29.0.
To use this functionality, simply select colors from your swatches panel and click on 'create gradient' in the swatch panel options.
Please try out this feature and let us know what you think!

As mentioned before, this got shipped into the main (GA) build, but the development is not completed. The team has been gathering all the user feedback and intends to address it.
Here are several relevant entries you can upvote.
Bug reports:
- Spots and Globals are converted into process colors when included into Swatch Info
- Swatches Info doesn’t work for the only swatch selected
- Swatch Info renders a saved tint as yet another copy of the main global color
- The default text color in Swatches Info is rich RGB black when used in a CMYK document
- Tabs in Swatch Info text are made with spaces instead of actual tabs
- Bottom margins for labels are too small for Swatch Info objects in the column view (with no card backgrounds)

Star is now a live shape and available in the all the public builds starting from V 28.3.0.
You can now customise your star in any way you like; may it be changing the no of sides, corner angles, or even the corner radius.
Please try it out and let us know what y'all think !

I don’t understand why the star tool is not a “live” shape on the iPad version. I need to be able to change the number of points, as I am able to do with computer versions. Instead, with this iPad version, I have to layer two 5-point stars and then move the points over with the direct selection tool and then draw two additional points, select everything and then merge the shapes to create a 12-point star. That’s silly. There shouldn’t have to be so many steps to create a 12-point star, and it still didn’t come out as symmetrical as the ones I can create on the computer version. If I needed to create a 4-point star, it would be complicated as well. This needs to be fixed.

Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
Thanks & Regards,

I cannot believe that Adobe released a version of Illustrator without the ability to create brushes!!! That’s crucial. We need that. I downloaded the iPad version of Illustrator to make my life easier, not more difficult. Get it together, Adobe. We’re PAYING MONTHLY for this!
