AI CC 2018 SLOW!!
I can't even begin to share my frustration with how SLOW the performance of the AI CC 2018. I've reset preferences, restarted, reinstalled...
I'm running a 2017 Macbook Pro - everything should be running just fine but I see others are having similar issues with the speed. Must be a bug and needs to be addressed!!
Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

Just installed the latest AI update(22.0.1) and now its running extremely slow. I feel like im working in 2003. I can't believe how this update has completely destroyed my performance. My PC has a 2.6GHz processor with 16GB of RAM on a 64-bit OS. Not the greatest setup but still above average, not sure why AI is doing this now. Need some help ASAP! I am unable to do any work and any advice is welcomed.

CC2018 and High Sierra = completely unusable. Even purchased a new iMac with upgraded everything, and all my old comps are still twice as fast. Do something!

Completely same issue. Ill send you videos if you want. Invite you over for tea. Hard to believe you can't reproduce it on your end - it's pretty easy:
Buy a 5K iMac, max it out with 8GB Radeon Pro 580, 16GB ram, 4.2 i7, install illustrator, behold - issue reproduced.
Granted, it's around $3500 to get it all up and running... but it's totally worth it (and then move back to using a 6 year old PC with Illustrator CS6 on it so you can get work done).

Same frustration here. CC2018 and High Sierra are a bad combo. Do you guys even test this stuff?

The problem is very vague in its description, but if performance is related to outline-view and regular-view mode, then this issue is not isolated at all, but rather generic indeed – there are many complaints about slow performance:
