List .ait files in File > Open Recent Files
Since I start every new file with a template, it would save a lot of time to be able to click on Recent Files rather than root through several folders to fetch it. CS6 used to list .ait files.

Rob, there is a separate request for this: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/40474012-allow-to-filter-files-in-recent-menu-section-to-in

While we are amending functionality to re-include .ait, why not give us the option to choose which supported file types appear in the recently used list - it's so frustrating that the list gets cluttered by raster file types such as .png .jpg when they are created upon export. I do not have a need to open in Illustrator a file type which it cannot edit!
Additionally, a duplicate function (similar to Photoshop) which would enable me to leave the template file open and duplicate it each time I create a new file based from it. (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/39696586-duplicate-file)

Previous versions of AI showed ".ait" files in the "Open Recent Files" menu. This has changed in AI 2020. This is a very useful feature for developers who maintain .ait files and need to edit them often. Please bring this feature back.
