Hide / disable unwanted fonts
There is a long list of fonts that I just don't use. There needs to be some way to hide fonts. Especially with all the fonts that get added, plus any fonts that the os has installed.

"Stop installing foreign fonts I don't need"

In the type preferences, how about having a toggle so it either shows "favourite fonts", (allowing you to turn off Noto, Stix etc.) or "show all" in dropdown type menus. OR have some kind of "Hide foreign fonts" option.

Something that really frustrates me about this program is that there's no way to hide rarely or never used fonts.
It really clutters up the font menu, and forces me to scroll through lots of foreign script or symbol fonts, among others, to find the fonts I actually use.
Ideally this would work similar to favorites, with a toggle button the removes a font from the main font list, and moves them to a separate list which can be toggled on again, like in my very quick mockup. -

Hi. I always have a problem with a large number of installed system fonts that are not needed in Adobe programs. I know that I can turn them off with an asterisk, but with a large number of fonts and using several programs, it is troublesome. Can you add an application that will allow you to manage the fonts that are shown in your programs, hiding the system ones :)

This is interesting.
I suppose when you search a font, the hidden font should be displayed in searched results, but marked as hidden, with a possibility to unhide it back right from the search results, right? -

One feature that might make the fonts tab more user friendly, is the hide fonts that we don't need or use very often, such as foreign language fonts or other system fonts. This would be a great way to reduce the amount of scrolling involved, while still maintaining the integrity of favorite list.

As I said in the other feature request.... Can I vote for this, like, a hundred times? If Apple won't allow them to be managed, at least let us not have to scroll past all of them to get to the end of the list.

Can I vote for this a hundred times? So tired of scrolling past all the fonts in languages I can't read and will never use.

I can't believe this hasn't been addressed.

フォントをたくさん入れていると、フォントリストが長く、たどり着くのが大変ですが、その中にはシステムが使うので外せないフォントや、使用しない多言語のフォントがたくさんあります。フォントリストにそれらを表示させない機能が欲しい。

It would be great if there was a way we could turn system fonts off so they don't show up in the list.
Why is this valuable? Because currently I have 63 Noto *** fonts listed in my fonts -- there are others in that list too (Apple Braille) that we cannot remove from our system font library. Every time we do a visual search for a font to use, we have to go through these all of these useless fonts too. This would be a great option for all of your programs -- not just Illustrator. Same issue in Photoshop and InDesign.

Yes please! I'd like to be able to use arrow keys to rotate through fonts when choosing. And that works, until I get to some of these weird fonts, then it gets stuck and I have to manually go to the list and choose a later font to keep going. This happens multiple times in the list.

Please god dear god, Adobe, give us the ability turn the visibility of these off in this menu, and let us remove Adobe fonts/typekit menus so I can have complete control over my fonts

YES PLEASE! Ridiculous that I have 56 system fonts that I need to wade through. Just silly.

Provide ability to remove or control what fonts show in the Fonts menu (Type > Fonts). Towards the end of the list are a number of dividers with different fonts I never use or will use. In other apps, such as what I’m using to write this - TextEdit for Mac - I see a small group of fonts I’ve recently used and then all of the other fonts I’d normally want to use.
What I don’t see are fonts like Apple Symbols, Arial Hebrew Scholar, GB18030 Bitmap, Adobe Arabic, Khmer MN, and MANY others.

I agree with you Don W. Another thing could be developed is an option to browse the font folder location.

Yes. Please. It is unbelievable that in 2018, we do not have the option of hiding Hebre, Asian, Arabic, etc. fonts, if you don't speak or use those languages. We're not asking to disable or delete the fonts. Just PLEASE remove them from menus. It's completely counterproductive.

Add ability to filter out fonts (system/application) from CC font menus. For example the user should be able to hide the 12 STIX fonts that appear in the menu.

Please give us the option to remove all the Asian and Arabic fonts from the font menu - Most of us using western alphabets never use them! Why should they clutter our font menu?
