Hide / disable unwanted fonts
There is a long list of fonts that I just don't use. There needs to be some way to hide fonts. Especially with all the fonts that get added, plus any fonts that the os has installed.

Scrolling through an endless list of fonts that I'll never use when designing wastes so much of my time EVERY time I work in Illustrator, INDD or Photoshop. There should be a way to hide unwanted system and microsoft fonts from design programs.

There are many issues with Adobe Illustrator Font Window. My main qualm is having to weed through OS fonts / Foreign fonts that are automatically installed into Illustrator, but cannot be removed (via Adobe Fonts, or Mac Font Book). Please add a feature where we may "hide", "disable", or "turn off" unwanted/unused fonts, like the eyeball feature on Layers.

Neal, the problem with the font list jumping at the top, to the recent section, is a known one, and is reported separately — please upvote it: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33466396
To workaround it now, you can go to Preferences > Type, and set 0 for Number of Recent Fonts.
Please comment back if it helps (and especially if it doesn’t!) -

The font menu is really frustrating. It could at least go to the selected font in the list rather than back to the top every time.
I'd also like to be able to jump to a font by typing the first few letters, but not having the search (for when I'm looking for a new font, get to say "Times" and want to go back and start again in the T's). -

There needs to be a way to customize our font list options to choose from. Scrolling past 102 Noto Sans system fonts that we CANT remove, disable or hide is such a waste of time and so frustrating. Every other font family is collapsible, but not the 100+ noto sans fonts. ridiculous.

C'mon Adobe, maybe you could put some AI programmers onto this task?

If only Apple would allow them to be disabled in the OS. Because that's where they're coming from. I believe Adobe Fonts only installs what you've activated, or what's in the document when you open it. But it would be great if there was a way to hide them in the Adobe CC apps.

I doubt it will be implemented one day, because it is not “inclusive”. Kind of racist to ban foreign things out of the view.

In the type preferences, how about having a toggle so it either shows "favourite fonts", (allowing you to turn off Noto, Stix etc.) or "show all" in dropdown type menus. OR have some kind of "Hide foreign fonts" option.

Something that really frustrates me about this program is that there's no way to hide rarely or never used fonts.
It really clutters up the font menu, and forces me to scroll through lots of foreign script or symbol fonts, among others, to find the fonts I actually use.
Ideally this would work similar to favorites, with a toggle button the removes a font from the main font list, and moves them to a separate list which can be toggled on again, like in my very quick mockup. -

Hi. I always have a problem with a large number of installed system fonts that are not needed in Adobe programs. I know that I can turn them off with an asterisk, but with a large number of fonts and using several programs, it is troublesome. Can you add an application that will allow you to manage the fonts that are shown in your programs, hiding the system ones :)

This is interesting.
I suppose when you search a font, the hidden font should be displayed in searched results, but marked as hidden, with a possibility to unhide it back right from the search results, right? -

One feature that might make the fonts tab more user friendly, is the hide fonts that we don't need or use very often, such as foreign language fonts or other system fonts. This would be a great way to reduce the amount of scrolling involved, while still maintaining the integrity of favorite list.

As I said in the other feature request.... Can I vote for this, like, a hundred times? If Apple won't allow them to be managed, at least let us not have to scroll past all of them to get to the end of the list.

Can I vote for this a hundred times? So tired of scrolling past all the fonts in languages I can't read and will never use.

フォントをたくさん入れていると、フォントリストが長く、たどり着くのが大変ですが、その中にはシステムが使うので外せないフォントや、使用しない多言語のフォントがたくさんあります。フォントリストにそれらを表示させない機能が欲しい。
