190 votesThis issue is probably happening because the artboard dimensions are not appropriate for raster export (i.e. are in decimals).
If you make x and y values as the whole numbers in the transform panel (not in decimal), then the extra pixels will not be added to the exported image.That is the workaround, and it’s reported that it’s not always the case.
At the same time — Ai knows the size of artboards to be exported and yet it does not deliver the set sizes, which is not fair. The team is going to rethink the algorithm.

The latest Beta Build 29.6.91 introduces first changes to the way how recent font section works. Now Ai tries to find the position of the currently chosen font in the main list.
There are several known issues.
- If you deselect a text and select it again — Ai will still jump to the recent section’s font when we open the dropdown
- The recent section is not fixed and gets scrolled while navigating the list, making the access to recent fonts harder that it is now in the General build

THank you Margaet, that helped immensely! Although having the ability to use the eye dropper for a quick apply would be quite handy and would help make the experience from illustrator to indesign more consistent.

What I want, is to be able to copy the style of shadow or glow or other effect from one object to another. I applied a white glow to a low-rez image, now that I'm replacing it with a vector, there's no way for me to apply the same glow automatically, I have to visually duplicate the effect.

The solution is pushed into Global Availability build 28.6.
PDF is now available as type in File > Export > Export As dialog.
However, File > Adobe PDF Presets menu, similar to one InDesign has, to allow even quicker export, is absent still.

Please share your thoughts on the following:
1. Would it make sense to have a separate desktop app, just to create charts, and bring them inside Illustrator or InDesign? It may not be on cloud.
2. Or would you rather have us work on building it within Illustrator?

Keep in Illustrator, and also, once you've set up a style or theme for a chart, allow a way to copy style and paste on new chart.

Starting with version 29.3, Illustrator got the 'Embed permitted fonts for file preview' option in the Illustrator Options save dialog.
Currently it’s disabled by default, because there were multiple confused complaints on the changed behavior.
When missing in your current system, fonts will render as previews in the documents that were saved with this option enabled — it 'bakes' these outlines in. When we try to edit one though, we get a warning and the font becomes substituted, as before.

However, this is not 'Convert text to outlines on open' as we requested it. The option does not provide a way to do that for all the embedded outline previews, and Ai still doesn’t allow to select these at once. Please allow art boards that are larger than 272". When desiging display graphics, I often need artboards larger than 272". Because illustrator doesn't support larger boards, I have to do a lot of math and do art at reduced size unnecessarily.

Scrolling through an endless list of fonts that I'll never use when designing wastes so much of my time EVERY time I work in Illustrator, INDD or Photoshop. There should be a way to hide unwanted system and microsoft fonts from design programs.
