1. Preview of artboard before project starts

   Please allow for us to see a preview of the new project we are starting. When we set the dimensions or pick a preset dimensions, we can only see those grey outlined pictures. With this new feature, we would be able to see a "sample" of what our artboard is going to look like as a blank white canvas. It's basically a preview of the artboard before we officially start the project. Especially if we are typing in custom dimensions rather than choosing the set dimensions Adobe has already. Thank you guys :)

2. "Duplicate artboard" command should have option to create duplicate artwork on its own layer, not double all the assets in the file structur

   Currently when user chooses "Duplicate artboard" command, all of the assets on all layers and sub-layers get duplicated where they are within that layer hierarchy. To make for better asset organization, "Duplicate artboard" should have an option to create a new layer and put all of the duplicated assets in the same layer/sub-layer hierarchy there so then both sets of assets are independent in the layers window.

3. Document Recovery Panel

   Crash Recovery or document recovery is a life saver during unexpected crashes or Force quits of Illustrator sessions. However it becomes a nightmare, when it forces to recover documents from an old session and take ages to recover those document.

   A simple panel similar to MS Office will be really helpful for me to make a choice of what i want to recover and what to throw away before working..

   Its not always I need to use the old opened documents which I was not editing/ creating but just viewing as reference.

   Also its not always I want to waste time opening huge files all at once in form of recovery from some one others failed session before.

   A non-blocking experience to choose what I need is must needed is this modern era. Specially when other applications in this world have already solved this problem.

4. Artboards workflow could do with some streamlining.

   So artboards in AI have been around for a while now, but the current workflow is pretty limited and at times frustrating.

   There are 2 really big things that could do with improvement.

   1 - The biggest issue I have is that there is no keyboard shortcuts to make a new artboard.

   Why do I have to move my mouse over to the artboard panel and click the add artboard button.

   This is way to long winded every time you want to add a new artbaord.

   2 - When adding a new artboard it does not conform to the column set, and why does it have to plonk it at the end every time?

   So if I have 6 artboards, and I want to add a new one after 3, upon clicking add new artboard it puts it at the very end, and if I keep clicking add it makes huge row.

   Then I have to go to rearrange artboard to correct the order.

   This a long and time consuming process when adding new artabords amongst others and having to repeatedly go to rearrange.

   Why is this workflow so broken? Why is this so convoluted.

   When adding an artboard it needs to respect where its places in the order.

   Would be amazing to sort out these 2 things, and then artboards would be far more streamlined.

5. flip artboard dimensions/orientation

   Many versions ago, there used to be a little arrow next to the artboard dimensions that would switch the width and height values. Meaning, if I had 8.5x11, I could hit the button to change the dimensions to 11x8.5. Where did it go?

   You can change an artboard’s orientation by clicking a corresponding album or portrait button in the Control panel. For some reason there is not one in Properties, so please add your votes if you want to have it there

6. Zoom In On Navigator

   Zoom In On Navigator

   1. When I am using the navigator, I'd like to see how certain areas of my document will look when printed. I would like to be able to zoom in on the navigator. See attached file.
   2. This would help me greatly because I could see small changes and large changes, at a better scale, while not making the navigator take up too much space within your layout.

7. Pan and zoom on multiple artboard at once

   Hi,

   I am wondering if there is a way to locate and zoom all open windows at the same time in illustrator. Like in compare window in Lightroom. When you zoom and pan over the image, it helps you compare and spot the difference. I am in packaging and sometimes i am using the same diecut and artwork, but different product. i would love to pan and zoom over the artworks on multiple windows to compare and spot the difference.

8. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE re-establish the the ability to drag over dimensions to change them!!!!

   I've been dragging over the top of dimensions to change them for years, I'm speaking about artboards specifically. Now with the latest release of IL I have to triple click or place a curser and either backspace or select over the top with my keyboard. It's REALLY ANNOYING and disruptive to my workflow. I know it's a simple thing, but when you've been working a certain way for years a slight change like that can cause all sorts of mistakes in projects.

10. Feedback on Invite to edit Feature (in Beta now)

    In our next feature update as part of cloud documents in Illustrator, we bring to you the “Invite to Edit” feature that is intended to help you share and collaborate with others.

    What is it?
    Collaborate with others with the Invite to Edit feature. Share your cloud document with other collaborators so that they can also edit your document. Find documents that others have shared with you in a new section called “Shared with you” which you can find on the Home Screen. You can also easily take a non-cloud document and convert it into a cloud document in order to take advantage of this collaboration feature.

    Feature details:
    1. To invite another user(s):
    Create or open a cloud document
    Click on the Invite to Edit icon in the app header.
    Type in the email address of the person you want to invite to edit your document. To test this out, please only invite others that currently in the prerelease program; otherwise, they will be unable to access this prerelease experience.
    Optionally, you can also add a message
    Send — an email will now be sent to the recipient(s).

    1. To access documents that are shared with you, go to the ‘Shared with you’ tab from the Illustrator homescreen where you can find all documents that have already been shared with you.

    2. Collaborators cannot edit the document at the same time. Only one user may edit the document at a time or a conflict may occur. If a conflict occurs, a copy of the Cloud document will be generated.

    Please give us your feedback on this feature.

12. Can we have master artboards for Illustrator, the way we do for In Design??

    I do so much illustration on my projects that it's not practical to use In Design for layout, so I use Illustrator for everything and it's almost perfect. The one thing I find I'm consistently missing is the ability to assign templates to certain artboards (like a master artboard.) I can't use "paste to all artboards" for this, because often I am doing book format with A/B. Sometimes, I'm doing student/teacher guides where the looks need to be differentiated.

    Can we get the ability to assign some artboards to another so that they can update dynamically if we change them during workflow? I think this would be a real game-changer :D

13. Align to...BUTTON

    In a past version of AI, the "align to artboard or selection" was a button rather than a menu. Please bring back the button! I switch between these two options hundreds of times a week and the menu wastes time that adds up.

    Align To is now three buttons in Align panel instead of a dropdown list.

    When working with multiple assets (png's and jpegs) and wish to import them in a document for various purposes: resize, remake them as vector for "overwrite" purpose it would be really helpful to:

    When importing a .jpeg or a .png file into a document, by clicking on the .png or .jpeg with the arboard tool, instead of creating a generic name, the artboard tool should "take" the name of the file automatically.

    When working with hundreds of small assets, it is very painful having to rename every single file in order to batch export them.

    Make artboards searchable in finder. If I would like to search for a specific Page/artboard.

    Example:
    Search: Order3 = file: Order2019 will appear in finder as that artboard named Order_3 are located in that file.

17. Allowance to change the keyboard shortcuts for Previous Artboard and Next Artboard

    I have all of my keyboard shortcuts set to the left side of the keyboard, since I draw right-handed and keep my left hand on that side of the keys. In my animation workflow, I like to scrub back and forth quickly between artboards, but I do not like the current LOCKED shortcuts for going back and forth through them:

    Previous Artboard (Currently locked to Shift-PgUp)
    Next Artboard (Currently locked to Shift-PgDn)
    First Artboard (Currently locked to Ctrl-Shift-PgUp)
    Last Artboard (Currently locked to Ctrl-Shift-PgDn)

    There is currently no listing for them in the keyboard shortcuts menu, so they cannot be changed.

    If I could change them to something like SHIFT-A and SHIFT-Z this would make my workflow so much faster, and it just seems like there should already be changeable shortcuts for these functions under Preferences/KB Shortcuts anyway.

    Hello, Is it possible to create a separate tab for customs presets in new blank document like "mobile", "web", "film&video" etc and under that tab we can create multiple customs presets/template with respective settings.
    For example "create a social media tab" and under that tab there will be various customs presets new blank doc for "instagram", "Facebook", "Linkedin" etc etc

20. artboard size fit

    It would be great if Illustrator created a new artboard to fit copy and paste elements - as done when you copy to clipboard and paste in photoshop. It would be helpful when need ing to create multiple illustrator files ( say logo variations, or icons etc) instead of having to manually resize the artboard/page size
