The toolbar keeps stacking the selection tool and the direct selection tool into one tab.

This is a major problem STOP changing elements of illustrator that worked fine before.

Oh, please fix this. It's trashing my workflow. I just spent 3 minutes looking for the elipse tool because it had accidentally been moved into the pen tool fly out. Aaarrrgghhhh! Thank you!?!?

Man! this is driving me crazy! the black object pointer, point selector and pen change position every 5 minuets. I don't know if they change randomly, but i select tools out of the corner of my eye and may sided it a little.
Can i turn this off?

but again its Adobe messing about with a once great design tool. Stop with the tinkering guys!

YES! So glad I'm not the only totally frustrated by the new "feature". In case you guys might not know, you can reset the panel... which I do about every 5 minutes.

Who's bright idea was this? surly this should have been worked out in testing! I'm all for customisation but this was never needed. why don't you work on proper updates like getting a work page to sit on the grid properly! basic stuff!!

This needs to be rectified ASAP and be a priority its costing time and money.

As much as I love the customization option, the dragging and losing tools is slowly making me lose what little sanity I have. I'm glad to hear that it is actually been acknowledged as an issue and is being taken care of.

Someone suggested dragging the tool menu from the far left off from the blue line that docks it. I just tried it and so far the icons haven’t moved. Not that this fixes it but just puts a band aid on the issue.

Our studio is not at all happy with the new toolbox. It's costing time and driving everyone nuts trying to locate the tool they need. It should be second nature. PUT A LOCK ON IT. This is really urgent. It needs fixed now.

I keep inadvertently dragging icons about my toolbar. I concede that a lot of people might find a customisable toolbar really useful, but being able to lock it off would save me a lot of grief.

I've customised the tool bar several times now and when working on a file and using keyboard shortcuts for switching between tools I find that the toolbar has rearranged itself and grouped items that weren't previously grouped i.e grouped rectangle tool in with selection tool.
I've also encountered the space bar not working as hand tool and I've had to quit illustrator and restart my iMac to get it working again.

Yes! I end up resetting the toolbar at least 3 times a day as the tools randomly move around. Frustrating!

I used the reset option and it came back. Go to the three dots at the bottom of the bar. Then go to the top right of the new box that opens up and click on the 3 dots with the dashes next to them. Then there should be an option to "reset". Apparently we can accidentally move the individual tools around (not sure if that's new or I never noticed it before) and you can actually drag it out into oblivion. Reset button fixed it for me. Hope this helps.

I hate the new toolbar feature in Illustrator 2019. It moves my tools around too much and I inevitably end up having to go back to default, just to find the basic toolset. I like the idea of arranging the tools the way I want them, but I want them to STAY there. Either fix it or go back to the old toolbar. PLEASE. This is using up way too much of my valuable design time.

I recommend all people in trouble to return to the previous versions is realy easy to do.

Please please can you add a lock. Its doing my head in! Wasting so much time trying to find where my tools are as they keep pinging all over the place!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH

same here, driving me mad, thought I was losing the plot! Please fix this and stop trying to be clever with the toolbars

It seems that the support does not care about this problem! I had to go back to the previous version.

I agree with the discount for subscribers - I have lost way too much time dealing with this awful glitch.
