Unreliable EPS export from CC 2020
If I export a multilayered Illustrator file as an EPS from CC 2020, layers are not saved with the correct ones activated when the EPS is opened in Illustrator once again.
When I complete the same task in CC 2019 the layers are saved correctly.
This means that CC 2020 is not usable in its current state as a reliable production tool for generate EPS files.

Save artboards as individual files - File name bug
When I try to save an .ai and check "Save each artboard as a seperate file"
Illy should create each file with my chosen file name, plus appended with the name of each artboard.
Except sometimes it fails to append the correct artboard name. I always rename my artboards, and sometimes it just adds the default dartboard name.I'm on:

EPS files look slightly off in working document and exported files for web
We have used .eps files for our logos for many years with no issues. Now, .eps files placed into a document (usually logos) appear just slightly off -- sometimes it will be the rounding of one of the letters, or a little chunk off the side of some letters. Some of the letters may appear to be outlined or thicker than others. In some cases, the issue is so subtle it isn't caught before going to print. Registered trademark symbols are often corrupted.

Multiple Users Open Same File and Overwrite Work
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro
When I have a file open, my coworker can open the file and does not get notified that the file is already opened or locked. He can work in the file and save, and it overwrites my version. Then when I go to save, I get notified that the file was 'modified outside of Illustrator, do I want to continue?" If you click yes, it overwrites his work and his work is lost. Is this a bug that it does not indicate that the file is already open by another user?1 vote -
Can't save .ai file, Illustrator crashes
When I try to save my .ai file, I get the error: "Illustrator is unable to save this document due to some unexpected errors." When I try to save a second time after this message, Illustrator crashes.

Illustrator only showing one of 3 previously opened docs after crash and no tmp-files - total loss of many hours of work.
Well, well well. So Illustrator crashed (stupid me did believe adobe saying it was more stable after the update some days ago) and after killing via task manager and re-opening it only did show one of the three opened documents. Unfortunately it was only one file I needed to copy and paste an element from and it was not important.
The file I was working on originated in an One Drive folder. Maybe there´s the issue. There should have been any temp-file somewhere, though.
Autosave is on and saving every 2 minutes, default.

Update didn't update Recovery folder location resulting in data loss
I just lost a bunch of work because Illustrator hadn't updated the DataRecovery folder location when it upgraded. When I went to preferences, the location was set to a non-existent folder which had been the default location for a version 23 but had been removed by the update to version 24. This is a huge oversight and needs to be corrected. To be clear, I had not set this location manually, although I have now set the location to the default folder for version 24 (which did exist, but no files). Problem with Simbraille Font in Illustrator when trying to Save As a PDF.
In Illustrator, I use the Type Tool to create the letter "a" using the SIMBRAILLE font. It appears correctly in Illustrator. Dot 1 is larger than dots 2,3,4,5 and 6. This is the effect I want. (I am creating special flash cards to use with a student at school). When I am done saving my file (I have the Braille cell, and the corresponding character beneath on a second layer... depicting the letter "a" is a different font (calibre regular), and the above are against my background…1 vote -
PDF Preview not available (24.0.1)
Despite "Create compatible PDF file" option checked, the PDF preview states it wasn't.

Illustrator 2020 huge problems!
Mac OS Mojave 10.14.16
Illustrator 24.0.1.
Some problems and HUGE problems:
1) The saving to server (which is where we are supposed to save) is extremaly slow even with vector based files)
2) When opening a new file while another file is open, the file name is the right one, but on the screen view there is a duplicate of the other file that is open
3) While saving the changes for file in .ai format the file that was just before first in pdf-format, the program gives "Fatal error, could not save" and the whole file disappears from the…1 vote -
Cannot save
Any file I try and save is appearing with file error, I have tried restarting illustrator but this is still happening.

Saving an existing file creates a new file instead
I don't know why when I reopen an .ai file to keep working on it and save it, it saves it as a new document instead of updating the file I opened.

AI 24.0.1 image embed
I'm using Illustrator 24.0.1 on Mac. When saving Illustrator file even with Include Linked Files box checked, linked files are automatically embedded.
Please fix as this is a big issue especially with replacing updated images. Instead of updating automatically, each file has to be replaced again.

Links won’t update when used for text wrap
AI 23.0.3 (64-bit) on Windows 10
Automatic image update (if you change an image outside of AI it will ask if you want to update the image in you AI file) does not work when text wrap is on.
The image has been masked to a shape then text wrap on this new shape.Hopefully this is a simple fix because I don't want to keep turning text wrapping off when I want to refresh the image.

Export for screens > SVG Exports only some of the artboards.
MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
Illustrator 24.0When I use the export for screens it doesn't export all of my artboards to SVG. I have 21 artboards and only 8 of them are being exported.
Is there any workaround for this bug?
UPDATE: It exports all the artboards but it takes a long long time. Is it normal?

Exporting SVG using different methods provides different results
When exporting as an svg using the native "Export, export for screens" Adobe exports the svg as an svg 1.0.
Which isn't as commonly supported as svg 1.1
However, if a user opens that same svg in illustrator and bypasses the export as, and just does cmd + s, it becomes an svg 1.1
It would be useful to always have the same format rather than different ones. Preferably always save as svg 1.1

Thanks a lot for reaching out to the Illustrator team. As a matter of fact, the newer SVG2 specification does no longer use versions anymore.
The main reason is that all modern SVG import tools/browsers ignored the version number and just open with what ever is in the SVG file.
Due to the implementation behaviour and the spec change and to reduce file size, all export scenarios do no longer export with a “version” attribute. That does NOT mean that SVG files get interpreted as version 1.0! The exported features matter not the version number.
We will update the Save as (CMD+S) route in the future to follow the pattern of SVG export.

Google Drive File Stream is corrupting AI CC 2019 files
To reproduce the issue…
- Open an AI file on my Google Drive Stream.
- Save the file
- Try to reopen file. Error message appears. "The file logo.ai is in an unknown format and cannot be opened"

can't open files with cloud & arrow symbol
I use MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.6, I've recently noticed that when I try to open up older files (couple of years old) I get a cloud with a downwards facing arrow. I am unable to open these files though I can preview them. any ideas how I can open them please, thanks
1 voteThe downward cloud icon that you are referring to is a state when the file is present on the cloud but not present on your hard drive. Please download the file to your computer to access it.
