Pasted items automatically get deselected in Beta 29.5 35
Copy an element and paste it. It should be in a selected state, but it isn't.

However, this build got Shift broken for constraining transformation, so it’d be wise to wait for the next Beta build, where it is reported to be fixed.

Jessie, you where right, I just tested it with a simple rectangle shape, but it is definetely a bug with other objects.

The problem with constraining aspect ratio was reported here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/939477/suggestions/49669667
The team says it’s been fixed already and will be pushed into the next Beta coming up soon. -

Works for me on Mac with this beta. Maybe reset preferences, un-install/re-install?

The shift key no longer locks the aspect ratio when scaling manually since I updated to 29.5 52 (Beta).
Although the selection-after-pasting problem IS fixed!

What is broken? The lock works when changing values, the Shift works when scaling manually.

is there any update to this? i've tried beta as well, hoping it would be different, but nah. slows down workflow like crazy, especially when pasting ungrouped objects

The bounding box does not appear while pasting, regardless of the vectors/ text/ or image. It makes me confused whether I'm pasting successfully. I tried to reset everything, even reinstall Illustrator, still not working.

I started seeing this problem in the current general release version of Illustrator (29.3.1) earlier today. It was pretty annoying considering I was working on a complicated wall wrap design 136' in length. Thankfully the objects I was pasting in place were simple and easy to manually move. Last night I was working on this project at home using the Beta version. I don't know if something from the Beta release carried over in my art file when working on it the current release.

lately, illustrator is full of bugs, text suddenly has no fill color when using two fonts in the same text box, endless saving issues, when paste some elements, nothing happen, need to redo the copy multiple time, and now the pasted items selections.....
Please ADOBE, stop adding new features, and refine the current ones, not acceptable at all with that price tag

When pasting objects, they're not selected, started happening with newest update. It is super disruptive (breaks actions)
29.5 35 on win 11
