I just hope they never remove the legacy save for web, that'll push me look for other program to work with.An error occurred while saving the comment Carlos Morales Quirós commentedstill happening... the angled images look terrible with export for screens. If use Save for Web they look perfect. This happens no matter the AA optimization, resolution, angle, or format of the linked images. If they are rotated, export for screens will distort them.

Please provide comparison screenshots for the designs you can see a clear difference between these two export methods.
There is a related bug report, and perhaps the quality discussed here is actually a bug: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/38987995
Even if it’s somethings else, it’s not OK the request about image quality does not have a single image as an example. Please share!
An error occurred while saving the comment Carlos Morales Quirós commentedheres more info:
One artwork, SAME jpg placed at different rotation angles. (placement method doesn't matter, you can link or embed, the result is the same), also color mode doesn't affect the results either, you can try this on RGB or CMYK.
see two attachments, one was made with export for screens, the other with the legacy save for web. Notice the horribly jagged edges in the rotates images.
please fix this.

This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Color Model selection for JPG is available in Export For Screens -> Advanced settings. Illustrator will allow you to choose - RGB, CMYK or Grayscale color model.
What's New in the release - https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new.html

Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.An error occurred while saving the comment Carlos Morales Quirós commentedthis keeps happening, new computer, fresh install, latest version (27.6.1) in June 15 2023... not only some artboards revert to the original name, sometimes they revert to a previously changed name, it's like there's somekind of delay between the time I make the change and the time it gets "written" into the actual .ai file...

@peter true, exporting at 4x and resizing is a cumbersome workaround, but the only really suitable until they fix this...
