Is it this one? It does not set acceleration it just allows to change a number of steps. The transition is still linear.What we actually mean with this is more like the other image attached.

This happens only if the dedicated tool is used and the text is clicked — instead of selecting, the tool treats Shift-click as an attempt to reposition a dimension, and it gets moved so that the dimension line is placed to a position of the click.
Indeed, if a Selection Tool is used instead, it gets selected fine — and that’s what should be used, since Dimension tool does not select anything, it modifies and creates ...but since other tools, like Rectangle or Ellipse don’t modify corresponding shapes, I bet users will still expect to be able to select with it anyway.AdminEgor Chistyakov

It’s both fair and misleading (and a bit broken).While a live dimension object is treated by Ai as a solid item (and parts of it can’t even be selected with Direct Selection, until it’s expanded), it’s still just a group of text and strokes, dynamically updated. So it’s not the style of the whole dimension is sampled and applied, but specific basic characteristics of the clicked component. So when you click the text, it samples its fill, and tries to apply it to strokes, making them vanish... and it’s even more worse, sometimes it samples white of the background, or even anti-aliased pixels just on the edge of these, sampling gray!
Sure it should just work as expected — grabbing the whole look of it and applying it to selected dimensions...

It’d be more of an extension for the native Offset Path, both the filter and the effects, as I see it, once applied to a group. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I see. Happens on the largest zoom levels and only in GPU mode.
GPU mode allows to render faster thanks to computations done with GPU, obviously. It’s less precise but much faster, it cut corners and simplifies calculations to make it work as fast as it does. No wonder it throws away some fractions...
Notice how it goes away if you move the line someplace else (but sometimes it does not)So yes, it’s a GPU rendering artifact.
Still a bug!

I can’t reproduce this at my machine.
I believe you have 'Real-Time Drawing and Editing' option disabled in Preferences > Performance, am I correct? Because otherwise Ai fails and rendering a guide when dragged (reported here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/39740689)
What are your GPU and OS specs? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Saving a test document without compression and digging through code reveals that the opacities differ indeed. The one has integer 20, and the other one has a looong fraction tail.
For some reason Ai is way too scrupulous with Select Same with these, but lies when recording an action... or playing it!The one made with an action has the fractions, although if you study the code form the .aia action set file, it says 'value 20’.

This can happen if the 'Paste text without formatting' option is toggled in Preferences > Clipboard Handling. This would cause Ai to paste text with no formatting, adapting it from the target text.

What are the settings you have set in Preferences > Clipboard Handling section? Does disabling 'Include SVG Code' or toggling 'Paste text without formatting' change anything?
Also, you say specifically 'assumes the formatting of the neighbor' — can you please make a short video or a GIF on how it looks? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Oh, yes, Philip, I do understand. If I had this problem, I’d be mad. An inconsistency like this is like a splinter in the eye, I can vividly imagine. Still, some problems I personally have, have only one vote — mine. Argh.
27.3.1 fixes this specific problem: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/46336564
(notice it gained 32 votes in a week). It affected almost everybody, due to the nature of the bug, who received 27.3 (it gets rolled out in phases), and still, only some came here and reported it. The more votes — the more attention.
As for CADTools — well, third-party plugins CAN cause problems like this or other ones, worth checking! So please try to backup you Tools Panel Presets file, your workspace (an important step to revive them later, otherwise Ai won’t restore them properly) and try to remove the CADTools’ .aip files from the Plugins folder temporarily.

So far the problem doesn’t have enough votes. Sure, this count is not definitive threshold, since UV is still not actively used by all Ai users (most of them prefer to just overcome their problems instead of reporting them), but this value is the only public metric the team has.
The but is no pleasant (like if there are pleasant bugs), but there are more nastier ones so far. More votes — more attention.
Sorry, but there is nothing I personally can do with it, except for testing it (and sadly, this bug seems to affect only Macs — I don’t have it), and replying with a useless reply like this :(

This is clearly same thing wrong with these and/or the way they interact with Ai.
Does it change when you toggle GPU Preview mode in View menu? -
