Calligraphic Brush, Blob Brush appearance anomalies at small brush sizes (1 pt and above)
Illustrator 22.1, though this is extant in all versions I'm familiar with (since at least CS5).
When drawing with a calligraphic brush (and thus also with the blob brush) at small sizes, certain tight curves result in anomalous shapes extending out from the expected area covered by the brush. The screenshot attached is around 15mm across. AI file also attached. Expected result is that the brushed area corresponds to the shape of the calligraphic brush along the whole length of the path.

Make symbols work in brushes
When you save symbol as brush, it stops being symbol.
This makes impossible live update of the brush, when brush changes as soon as you make changes.
This video shows such live update (after Spiro part):

Making symbols stay symbols in brushes seems to be the easiest way of having such a behavior in AI.23 votes -
Edit a Brush like a Symbol, on canvas
To edit a brush stroke, we have to do the following:
1. Edit the panel
2. Grad the brush and drag it onto the canvas
3. Edit
4. Alt+drag it over the original brush
5. Think about applying changes to existing art if the brush is already usedMeanwhile, editing a symbol looks like this:
1. Double-click a symbol
2. Pass the warning (or disable it once)
3. Edit a symbol
4. Double-click on the canvas or hit Escape to finishLooks like almost the same length... but clicking is faster than dragging and aiming. Why no use the same…

Allow multiple elements in a scatter / pattern brushes
For example, you could make a brush that draws a random letter or number every pass, instead of being locked to a single element

Allow negative value spacing in pattern brush.
Simply allowing negative value spacing in the Pattern Brush Options, so it overlaps. Would eliviate a lot of work tinkering to make the original object right for pattern brushing as well as for allowing more interesting patterns.

Paint Brush Fidelity
Old illustrator use to let you change the paint brush fidelity with decimal increments. Now there are just 5 options. Can adobe please just change the slider so we can have more options to choose from? The jumps in fidelity options are just too big and it makes drawing a pain.

Straight lines with Blob brush, like in Photoshop (Shift + click end point)
If only I could draw a straight line (not only 45 or 90 degrees), by holding shift + clicking the desired end point of the line, LIKE IN PHOTOSHOP, I am working with the blob brush tool (the most useful tool for me) and a Wacom tablet.
Use the line tool you say, NO THANKS, I need to stay with the blob brush tool
to work intuitively, PLEASE, this is actually a major limitation, why would we only want straight lines at 45 or 90 degrees? .... PLEASE check it out out, it really is essential!10 votes -
Make raster brushes in Ai work as brushes in Photoshop and Affinity Designer do
I think you should change the brush type and make it as same as the Photoshop, as the brush of Photoshop is much convinient.
Like we can use a soft brush or we can lower the opacity of the brush easily and same with the eraser tool.
Now, Photoshop is raster based software whereas Illustrator is a vector based which is the positive point a for Illustrator.
File made in Illustrator is much more useful and file made in Photoshop is much more on the attractive side.
So we need Illustrator to be easy and convenient to use.

Make the eyedropper appear with the Brush / Blob Brush tool selected by holding the Alt / Option key
With the Brush or Blob Brush tool selected, make the Eyedropper appear by holding down the Opt / Alt key. This would allow colors within the document to be sampled just like in Photoshop, without having to keep selecting from the swatches.

Allow Brush with tool to scale a pattern brush properly.
When I use the width brush on a pattern brush, it scales the brush on all of the path to the widest bit used. I'd like it to scale only in the width direction, where I'm using it.

Brush smoothing (fidelity) per brush preset
Currently brush smoothing is set only by double clicking the brush tool icon and is universal.
Logically it should be set at the brush options dialogue, individual for each brush preset along with angle, size, roundness etc.
Each brush reacts differently, and there should be an option to have brushes with various smoothing settings all available at once.
Saving brush presets would retain their smoothing setting as well.
Ideally, Illustrator should adopt some of Photoshop's brush engine settings.8 votes -
Blob brush in touch mode
I work with a Wacom mobilestudiopro and I really like the touch mode but the blob brush is not accessible in this mode. It will be really helpful if you can add this brush. Thanks a lot

A brush that places elements on anchors
I would like a brush that places its elements along the path but rather than just distributing the elements or scattering them, it places the elements exactly on the anchors of the path. It should not distort the elements.
It would be great if it could have individual elements for the endpoints and for the inner points. More control would be possible if it could allow separate elements for corner points and for smooth points. That way objects could be placed along a path precisely.Use case: maps, metro lines maps infographics

Blob Brush Resizing Hotkeys
Blob Brush and Brush Tool Resizing: It would be amazing if the key command that works for resizing the Warp Tool (i.e., Option + Shift + Drag and Option + Drag) could be used in the same way to resize the Blob Brush and Brush tools.
That would smooth the workflow and increase the intuitiveness of the resizing function SO much. :)

Respect clip groups in pattern brushes
We can put a rectangle with no-fill and no-stroke under a tile art of a pattern brush to tell Illustrator about the bounds we want to use.
Also, we can clip the tile art with a copy of this rectangle. When used together, this allows to create a tile which is clipped and uses the bounds we expect... Well, almost — the preview of the tile in the dialog is going to be wrong, but the preview of the brush itself and the way brush behaves is going to be correct.
But without the bottom copy Illustrator won’t respect the…

Brush Needs Size - Inexcusable Design Flaw
It is absolutely unacceptable that the brush tool does not have a size setting.
It is straightforward to change the path size after drawing, it should be straightforward to set what path size is drawn.
This is not a feature request. This is a BASIC CORE APPLICATION FAILURE. Whoever neglected to add size should be fired and prevented from ever designing an application again.

Turn off small circle on brush tool
How can I turn off the brush size indicator circle at the end of the brush tool? It is very annoying, lags behind brush and can't see drawing as well.

Brush Groups
I would like to be able to select several brushes in the Brush palette, then press a 'make brush group' button on the palette.
I would then be able to choose this brush group as if it were a brush. Drawing with this brush group would choose a different brush in the group at random for every new path I created.
I might have a 'brush group options' dialogue box wherein I could choose the relative frequencies of the different brushes in the group, switch it between random choice and cycling between brushes in order, give it a name, and...…
