Hi Everyone,
This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
The new functionality allows searching layers by name using the searchbar in the layers panel. The users can also apply filters based on layer properties (locked, hidden etc) or objects properties (effects, text etc.). This will help to quickly find layers/objects for large documents (having multiple layers).

Thank you for all the feedback.

The latest Beta 28.8.0.37 now has this function back.
You can enable the mode using a button in Control Panel or in Properties, with the Artboard tool picked.
The option automatically enables Scale Strokes & Effects option temporarily.
As always, you can hold Shift to resize proportionally.
Please test it and comment back!

@Egor Chistyakov, I would like to use this when I Preflight files so I can flatten any objects with blending modes applied. I found that I'm able to draw a rectangle, apply a blending mode to it and use the tool you've suggested (Select > Same > Opacity and Blending Mode) but it will only select objects with the same blending mode as long as the opacity percentage is the same; which is unknown in files I am not building and only preflighting.
Unfortunately, flattening all the files I preflight to avoid this step is not realistic due to color matching needed and other factors. Is there another way I can quickly find objects with blending modes? I think in adding something as you mentioned to filter by transparent objects would also be helpful as it would lessen the amount of layers and objects I must search through.
