Resize artboard&art inside it simultaneously
I just want to resize both artboard and art inside it.
Currently, I've used beta 22.0.0, I can multiple select artboards, but I can't just scale art with artboard, I need to scale each one separately. Or scale art, then select Object->Artboards-> Fit To Selected Art...
But I want just like Ctrl+Mouse to scale them both.
The latest Beta 28.8.0.37 now has this function back.
You can enable the mode using a button in Control Panel or in Properties, with the Artboard tool picked.
The option automatically enables Scale Strokes & Effects option temporarily.
As always, you can hold Shift to resize proportionally.
Please test it and comment back!

It could be very useful if in addition to the ability to resize objects when resizing the artboard, objects inside the artboard rotates when changing the vertical/horizontal orientation

Agree, to avoid confusion, this should not be the default.
-
Ton, for me this option was enabled by default.
Here is a fresh report when a user just didn’t realize what happened and how to fix it: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/939477/suggestions/48781703
I bet this is going to be a common problem. -

It is not suddenly scaled, you need to activate it to do that. It is an option just like Scale Strokes and Effects, which is also not suddenly. It may be useful to have the option also in the Artboard Options.
-
Regarding the comments below — after using it several times, having an artboard suddenly scaled with the artwork feels bad.
We are so used it can’t do that, and the pressed button is so small...
I still occasionally discover Move/Copy Artwork with Artboard gets selected on its own, and I still miss to check it from time to time!
So yeah, an idea to reinforce both these modes somehow indeed makes sense. -
Steve, why would you need to distinguish these modes more? Trying to resize one would inform you clearly enough, wouldn’t it?
As I see it, just a color of the perimeter won’t be any more informative than a pressed button in Control. -

Woah... It was late when I had to reduce a page size. That new feature was automatically on. I thought I was seeing things... I thought I must be overworked and went to bed. Just read about that feature. It all makes sense now. I can see myself using this feature.
Maybe make the page perimeter a different colour to indicate a different page size option.
Thanks,

This can help fix the fractional pixel values that cause additional pixels during export as image.

i work with a lot of icons and this is 99% of what i need illustrator for, resizing icons + their artboards to maintain their placement within their container. manually fixing each one is time consuming and very error-prone.

Found this script for resizing artboard with content: https://github.com/zlovatt/zl_Scriptlets/blob/master/illustrator/Resize%20AI%20Artboard.jsx
It works for me, not ideal solution but works for now.

I would really need a feature to scale a whole artboard with its content, just like you can do with Frames in Figma!
-
Bardia, it has some problems with consistency across different selections and proportions. The team had to revoke it to reiterate on the feature. It is yet unknown when it returns. If anything pops up — I will update the thread.

Illustrator 22 has a best option for resize dartboard and artwork together and really i don't know how you remove that in newest version?

This would be VERY useful!

If you have a problem with the art being forcefully resized with their scaled artboard, although no button so far is given to control it, resetting preferences helps reset the internal switch to the way it supposed to behave for now — no scaling.
This feature will return later, needs more polishing. -

I recently started using version 27.0 ( aka Illustrator 2023)
Once you put layers within an artboard, they now scale with the artboard when scaling the artboard.
I think is what everyone wants... I'd like it turned off and I deselected : "Move artwork with artboard" and that doesn't work.I can't find a way to drag create an artboard around a graphic and then scale the artboard without screwing up the graphic. Ideas?

I loved the new "Scale artwork with Artboard" feature and it worked perfectly when I used it a few months ago. Trying to use it again today and can't find it... has this been removed?
