There are now several separate requests made, based on the feedback in this thread:
1. Regarding adjustable color and opacity for 3D shadows:
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/47054086
2. Regarding presets for each tab in 3D and Materials panels: Object, Materials, Lighting:

All those who commented on the topic until October 16, 2023, are already added as voters there. If this is something you want to have for 3D and Materials in Illustrator — please upvote it. If possible — create new requests and bug reports about 3D, rather than commenting here inside. This will help the team to better prioritize efforts on making the feature better. As always — thanks for the feedback! It helps.

An error occurred while saving the comment Andres Cathalifaud commentedThanks Egor. Just one example: I created 12 similar posters and flyers in one .ai file. They were all somewhat different but with some things in common; one of those was a text box containing some legal blah-blah. That text would need to be updated from time to time so a symbol was the perfect solution. The problem is that I missed one of the text boxes... and one cannot tell a symbol from a non-symbol object. In InDesign, a number of non-printing characters are used like the "pilcrow" and "link" to signify paragraph, a linked object respectively. There are more, you probably know. Those special characters can be turned on or off. This is what I'm thinking of, something that would allow me to identify the type of object I'm looking at. Best, A.C.

An error occurred while saving the comment Andres Cathalifaud commentedThe suggestion is to implement what is, already, available in Photoshop: File/Open Recent/Clear Recent File List). This is not, obviously,t a global preference but something that can be done "on the fly". So, please add the same capability to Illustrator (and InDesign, etc). Separately, the "Start a new file fast" box needs to be customizable perhaps somewhere in the Preferences panel as I don't believe users would want to mess with that too often after it's setup once. Right now, the EU size A4, not the most used size in the US is useless and defeats the "fast" part of the area's name (I'm rather puzzled by Adobe's choice to have this odd, non-US standard-size show up in the US). Thanks.

An error occurred while saving the comment Andres Cathalifaud commentedHello Nitish. Thanks for your suggestion but Preferences are out of the way and too "global" for this type of frequent, "on the fly" change. I'm not suggesting anything unknown and "novel" to Adobe as that same capability is, already, partly implemented in Photoshop: File/Open Recent/Clear Recent File List) obviously, not a global preference. So, please add the same capability to Illustrator (and InDesign, etc). Separately, the "Start a new file fast" box is, possibly, something that may be controlled via Preferences panel as I don't believe users would want to mess with that too often after it's setup once. Right now, the EU size A4, not the most used size in the US is off and useless and defeats the "fast" part of the area's name (I'm rather puzzled by Adobe's choice to have this odd standard-size show un n the US). Thank you for your time. A.C.
An error occurred while saving the comment Andres Cathalifaud commentedI appreciate your answer but it's an answer to a different question and hardly addresses (or "resolves") what I wrote:
I'd like to see a way to customize the Welcome screen so I could, for example, place my own shortcuts to my most used types of documents.
Additionally, I'd like to see a way to completely clear the "most recent" files (as one can easily do in Photoshop).
I hope this helps clarify what I wrote originally.
Thank you.An error occurred while saving the comment Andres Cathalifaud commentedCustomize the Welcome Back screen: Right now the "Start a new file fast" screen shows various options including an A4. I'm not in the EU. Where's the US Letter size? That would make the most sense in the US. Where can I edit that group? How do I clear the list of most recent?
