Latest Beta Build 29.1.0.79 now allows to add gradient and pattern swatches into color groups. Simple as that. I am personally amazed it just works.

Please try it yourself in the latest Beta and see if it works for you as well. My congratulations, everybody. Vote more!

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.0.0 which is available worldwide now.

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

    Illustrator CC2021 (v25.1)

In a RGB document, create a new Swatch Color:

Swatch Options: “Process Color”, “Global”, “Color Mode: HSB”

Define your color (using HSB sliders) and swatch name. Press OK.

Double click again on that color, and here comes the PROBLEM:

You can see the “Color Mode: HSB”

    BUT

Your color sliders are for R,G,B not for H,S,B (!!!)

To edit your color as HSB you need to change “Color Mode: RGB” and again “Color Mode: HSB”

Imagine this issue editing dozens of colors…

@Daylee Hopson: the problem is already fixed by Adobe. Please read the post by admin Ashutosh Chaturvedi where he shares a link to download a 23.0.1 hot fix

@Ashutosh: I have a question/doubt about the Adobe CC automatic updater. Once I applied the 23.0.1 hotfix, now Illustrator goes fine.

But I see that my CC app is NOT detecting Illustrator as an app installed on my machine: it indicates that *I can install Illustrator*, as if it was not really installed!

    Is this normal?

I want to believe that once Adobe launch a regular update, then this will change, reflexing that Illustrator (23.0.1) is already installed on my machine? Is that right?

    Or what?

    Thanks for your feedback! :-)

@Ashutosh: I have upgraded to 23.0.1 following your suggestion and the proccess has been extremely well. And I have been playing around 30 minutes with the app without problems.

I need to leave it (no really need Illustrator today for my tasks) but it would be fantastic if some other heavy user could made more extensive tests.

Thanks for your fix, Ashutosh! :-)

Reading the notes on you link, I suppose that the secure path is:

    — Uninstall failed Ai 23.0
    — Remove Ai Prefs, just in case…
    — Install this new Hotfix 23.0.1 Build 1

    Is this right?
    THANKS!

Just want to note that working with Illustrator CC2019 connected to internet does NOT made the bug to appear instantly for me, ever: sometimes it appeared just after a few operations, yes (say, 3-5 minutes after opening Ai) and other times it appeared after 20-30 minutes…

This morning, doing the test without internet connection, Illustrator was fine for over 30-35 minutes… but then: boom! the “Can't finish previewing” message + crash come here…

(BTW crash report saved while Illustrator was used WITHOUT net connection has been sent to sharewithai@adobe.com)

Following a suggestion made by Mr. Ashutosh Chaturvedi I made a test running Illustrator while completely disabling Internet Connection (disabling wifi and pulling off network cable), and nope: the bug appears.

I have been working for 30 minutes and then, again, received the “Can’t finish previewing” and an Illustrator crash 1 minute later… :-(

This is the email I received from Mr. Chaturvedi:

    Hi,
We need some help in validating a hypothesis. Can you run this small test and report back results in comments.
    1. Quit AI version 23 if already running
    2. Disable internet (e.g. disconnect from wifi or pull the network cable)
    3. Relaunch Illustrator and work as you would normally do.
does the error and crash go away after the three steps?
Please report back your results in the comments and get back back on internet. Your comments help us get to the actual fix faster.
    Warm Regards,
Ashutosh Chaturvedi | Sr. Quality Engineering Manager – Illustrator

Exactly the same problem here with AiC2019 (v23): do anything, dialog appears saying “Can't finish previewing”, and in a short time I suffer an Ai crash.

Exactly this same issue here, just after Upgrading to AiCC2019 (23.0)

Not possible to work so. Thinking on downgrading to AiCC2018… :-(

Lot of people complain on this here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/10686306
