When using overprint preview this app grinds to a halt, it's absolutely awful, please fix / improve
Mac OS 0.15.6,
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)
3.7 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5
64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Radeon Pro 580X 8 GBAi 24.2.3
switching between overprint preview brings my Mac to a slow grind
My expected result... that a professional application is fit for purpose
My actual result.... a slow and un-usable not fit for purchase application that I have no choice other than to use.!!!

Starting with version 29.3, Illustrator got the 'Embed permitted fonts for file preview' option in the Illustrator Options save dialog.
Currently it’s disabled by default, because there were multiple confused complaints on the changed behavior.
When missing in your current system, fonts will render as previews in the documents that were saved with this option enabled — it 'bakes' these outlines in. When we try to edit one though, we get a warning and the font becomes substituted, as before.
For more details and help, please see this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/find-missing-fonts.html
However, this is not 'Convert text to outlines on open' as we requested it. The option does not provide a way to do that for all the embedded outline previews, and Ai still doesn’t allow to select these at once. So do please upvote the request and comment and tell the team about your experience with this option, for it…

We have done further updates to Dimension tool with recently released version - 28.3
You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.

LMP...……. problem is there is no alternative, only a monopoly, I agree Adobe don't really care and there's nowt we can do...….. and they know it,. there are so many issues with illustrator, mainly basics which it does very poorly, purchasing additional 3rd party software to supplement it's inadequacies is not the answer.

Please stop treating guides like artwork, when I delete a layer that contains only guides (No Artwork) illustrator warns me that the layer contains artwork, this wastes my time as I then have to double check that it's talking nonsense as normal.
Introduce a dedicated guides layer (like FreeHand) this is a much better way of working.
Please seriously consider this as it is extremely frustrating having to work in this inefficient illogical manner.
