Is this still an issue in the latest builds?
Does it happen only in Properties or other panels affected as well? If it’s still bugged — please record a short video showing the way it behaves at your side.

The team rolled out a change in the latest Beta 30.4.0.187, allowing us to clear the list with a dedicated command.
Please try and comment back if this covers your needs.
Notice we still can’t filter files in Recent menu/section to include only AI documents and exclude chosen formats (like PDF, JPEG, TIFF, Save a Copy, etc.) — upvote it if this is something you need.
An error occurred while saving the comment It's pretty astounding that this doesn't already exist. I shouldn't have to scour the internet to find out how to do something in Illustrator that can already be accomplished so easily in Photoshop.

1 year later and this is still an issue, because of course it is. Adobe, in typical Adobe fashion, prioritizes adding new half-baked features that no one asked for over fixing basic UI bugs that impact everyone.
