Here's another file from last week showing the bug: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X2D695VgrQBh4jFbcBqubhudMPiy8mFs/view?usp=sharing
The gray square bottom left is in the PDF version but not in the AI version. Re-saving fixes it. Annoying. We have hundreds of illustrator files, and no way of knowing if any of them are bugged at any point without visually comparing the file in AI and another app.

Encountered it personally on v30 recently. So latest update does not change the behaviour.
Windows 11, file is on a network drive, background save on (but have not yet verified if related).

The problem you linked is different than the bug we are seeing.
Unfortunately, we are unable to recreate it on purpose, it only happens rarely, and simply doing another save fixes it, so really hard to verify if «save in background» is causing it (but worth a try). :(
Hopefully Adobe can determine more by inspecting the bugged file example.

We started getting this erroneous message most of the time now after updating to v30. Files are on a network share, but it was not a problem before.

Unfortunately there's a ton of commands that don't record properly (at all) when recording Actions in Illustrator. They really should do a pass an ensure actions performed by the user while recording are actually recorded. Triggering things from the Properties panel for example (*the main, most important, panel in Illustrator*) fails to record most things...

This is very important for me and my colleagues. We have like 6 variants of an action, and it has enough steps that when expanded it fills the entire panel top to bottom. This means that you end up endlessly scrolling, or constantly collapsing actions.
It is quite annoying, since there is no good reason why they would expand when being used.
If I want to edit an action I can expand it manually. *I run actions more often than I edit them,* so it is best if they do not auto-expand.

Yeah, the "add" thing should be completely removed from the UI. Asking the user to manually estimate the dimensions of their raster effects is just weird.
It should be calculated automatically (per effect so you don't need one size fits all).

I am trying to install Ai in Norwegian, but there is no option for it in preferences.
Changing app language in the Creative Cloud Desktop App to Norwegian, then reinstalling Ai does not help. Reinstalling all of CC does not help. I have tried 10 times. Even on a new user account with the OS language changed to Norwegian just in case.
But, digging around, it should be possible to manually copy over the required files. In C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2020\Support Files\Contents\Windows there is an "en_US"-folder.
Where can I download the files required for Norwegian (nb_NO)?Ps: Also, it *really* needs to be easier to change language. And make it consistent across CC apps. I have spent two days and only managed to change the language of half my apps.

I need to switch languages now and then and it's a nightmare. It is different from app to app, and sometimes it totally stops working.
It's easier to change the language for my entire freaking operating system than it is for CC apps. It should simply be a drop-down to choose the language in preferences. Is that so hard?
I have now even uninstalled, removed preferences, and reinstalled both Ai and the CC desktop app, set default app language to Norwegian, even switched language for my OS, and Illustrator still only gets installed with English every time.

You are supposed to unninstall, then change app language in the CC desktop app, then reinstall.
But it seems totally random if it works. I have now changed my OS language, uninstalled Ai and the CC dekstop app, reinstalled them with prefernces set to Norwegian, and Ai still installs itself with English only.

@Egor Chistyakov; I have disabled background save on our computers. But the two sample files I provided with the bug were created prior to this.
Since it happens so rarely, and when it happens we might not always even notice, it is not yet possible to know if it has had any effect. We will simply have to wait a month and then if the issue has not reappeared by then, then it is likely disabling background save helped. :(
