    We have confirmation from multiple users that copy paste crash issue is resolved after updating to latest MS Windows Defender security intelligence update - 1.435.148.


    Request everyone in this thread to update to the latest MS Windows Defender security intelligence update - 1.435.148 and share if this resolved this issue.

    Confirmed that KB5063875 Windows update has fixed the problem on our users' Win11 computers. This is a big relief!

    UPDATE:

    Aug. 12, 2025 - I contacted Adobe and they are aware of this issue but do not yet know the cause. They are working with Microsoft as well.

    All of our users have witnessed this issue over the past several days -- after a recent Windows 11 security update was installed. We use enterprise-controlled laptops so we can't disable MS Defender. We have tried everything from resetting prefs, reinstalling previous builds of Illustrator, etc. Even the beta crashes.

    It is only happening with Illustrator on our Windows computers, not InDesign, Photoshop, or other CC apps.

    Just updated to 28.5 and although the SVG export for 1.1 profile seems to be working again for filled area text boxes, there is still the nagging error popup that says "The following items could not be exported properly..." text is converted to outline.

    This did not happen when 1.1 worked previously. That error statement is misleading since one would suspect something did not get exported correctly. Please address this in the next build. Thanks.

    Desperately need this functionality in Illustrator. We use it all of the time in Photoshop and some of my graphic designers are using Photoshop for concept work that *should* be done in Illustrator but they use PS because AI doesn't have layer comps.

    Using symbols is not a solution and artboards is tedious, creates huge files, doesn't share layers, and makes updating mockups difficult.
