EAN codes needed too, for printhouses producing packaging like food, cosmetics, car parts.... This feature is a base for packaging design in our industry.

Corel has had this for................. how long? But at least AI costs 10 times as much!!! Crazy.

Completely agree, this a Useful tool desperately needed as a native tool in Ai, external Plugins and software are expensive.
For those who use Windows, there is a script on the adobe exchange page, (there is not a Mac version :( ), from Alexander Chigintsev Developer...

Add an integrated barcode generator that can produce a wide range of commercial barcodes (UPC, Code 128, ISBN, etc.).

This would be a great addition and would speed up workflow greatly. Not just for Illustrator but also as a native tool in inDesign

There's a lot of scripts and custom plugins, bit I would like to have native tool too.

This would be great! I was looking into this feature, but not available. I have to create barcode elsewhere, and then open up in AI, doing copy and paste. Takes a long time when you have to do 50!
Would be great if AI has a function to:
- draw a space for barcode
- click on the space and type in UPC number
- Then barcode appears inside that space
- For every UPC change, I just need to click the space and enter new UPC, then a new barcode will get generated.It's a WISH!
