An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThis would be a great addition and would speed up workflow greatly. Not just for Illustrator but also as a native tool in inDesign

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI have come across this several times now. Unable to reproduce, but periodically you lose the ability to drag objects in Illustrator. You can rotate, nudge and use manual transform tools, but can't left-click + drag. The only way to resolve it is to restart the machine (not just Illustrator). A nuisance! Build 23.0.2 Win 10 64.

Adobe. Make It an Experience. An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedGreat to hear that this is been considered. Will the same behaviour be restored to the "Save a copy" command too?
Anonymous supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedSince the update to 22.0, the behaviour of "Save a copy" has changed so as to present the last-browsed folder destination in Windows Explorer. Previously this defaulted to the location of the working file.
This is interrupting workflow considerably. I'm sure I am not alone in saving PDF copies of artwork in profess, for discussion with colleagues and clients. This used to be a couple of keystrokes but now I have to remember to browse back to the working file location each time.
In summary:
Expected Result: Explorer window should really default to the location of the working file.
Actual Result: Shown location in Explorer window is that of the last-browsed folder destination.

5 votesYou can enable Paste Remembers Layers in the panel’s menu to make Illustrator remember layers your objects were copied from and insert them on layers with same name when pasted. If these layers don’t exist, Illustrator will create them. Be careful and disable it when not needed, if might make a mess when not needed. Also note that with this option enable everything copied from an isolation mode creates a separate 'Isolation mode' layer, which is stupid — vote here if you think this should be addressed: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/37935496-paste-remembers-layers-bug-with-isolation-modeAnonymous supported this idea ·

Adobe. Make It an Experience. An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedFor anyone struggling to find the option in Illustrator 22.0, Uncheck "Zoom to Selection" in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display.
Thank you Adobe for restoring this behaviour - I feel like I have my life back!!

Glad to hear that I'm not alone. Anyone got any ideas as to what might be causing this? I'm slowly going insane.
