Vector Networks Like Figma Has
In illustrator vector shapes can only go in one continuous path. If you wanted to draw a cube, it would take 3 shapes, perfectly aligned and 12 points, 6 of which would overlap.
In a vector network a point can have multiple branches meaning that a cube could be one shape, with only 7 points (see image).
This feature would eliminate the need for complex shape overlays to create simple compositions, like a cube.8 votes -
Scale the graphs. SCALE THE GRAPHS. SCALE THE GRAPHS. SCALE THE GRAPHS.
WHY CAN'T WE SCALE GRAPHS. THIS IS SO BASIC. IS ADOBE BASIC? STOP BEING BASIC. SCALE THE GRAPHS.
This is a critical functionality for infographics and you've all but left it as something a child would have shown at an Adobe Max SNEAKS reveal with it's current level of development in comparison to the level the rest of the entire OS has reached.

Pen tool with measurement
When using pen tool the user can type in a specific measurement in which they would like their line to be instead of having to rely on trying to make it exact using the numbers.
Select pen tool -> Click mouse where you want the pen tool to start -> Type and enter specific measurement wanted -> Pen tool will then create the length -> Click and place in desired location.
I think this would be really beneficial when using the pen tool so you are extremely accurate as being a few millimeters off can cause problems.

Anchor point adjusting with a constrain
When adjusting the length of a path by dragging an anchor point that's set at ANY angle, not just 90 or 45, hold shift + ctrl (or something) to keep it locked at whatever angle it's already at, instead of it going all over the place. Just keep the angle locked and be able to lengthen or shorten the path with ease!!

Bounding Box Preview Bounds
CC 23.01 Mac High Sierra
When a single object is selected, Preview Bounds is on, the Bounding Box does not reflect the Preview Bounds - it is the same as if Preview Bounds is off.
When selecting multiple objects it works as it should
8 votesThis issue is fixed in latest version of Illustrator. Live shapes (and art in general) no longer have geometric bounds’ sized bounding box with the Preview Bounds option on.

Precision drawing tools
Precision tools for drawing (symmetry, coordinates for handles, precise control of curves, etc.).
Currently, drawing a logo with precision is almost impossible.
It would be useful to draw inspiration from CAD, Rhino3d, Astute Graphics plugins, font creation tools (another lack of Adobe), etc.
Why do we have to buy other software to perform this task?
This is a serious lack of Adobe.
Or Adobe could develop another software (or an illustrator tool) with an interface dedicated to the geometric precision of the curves.8 votes -
Corner Radius - Hold 'Shift' to snap integer values
Interactive corner radius is great for one object but not for many.
Hold modifier key to snap integer values is easy and fast way to ensure same radius while working across multiple objects.
Please consider. Thank you8 votes -
Less controls for selections, which scale and round corners instead of select and drag
A new handle and selection system was introduced, which included rounded corners, scale, and rotation options. Some of this was a good feature, until it wasn't. I desire a preference for turning off most handle options because with them on, I'm unable to select-option drag copy, or move elements unless I zoom in 1000 percent. The rotate and modifier keeps getting in my way and it's driving me nuts. Selecting and moving objects shouldn't be this frustrating.

Allow Shape Builder to close edited path, but keep the one below opened
Hi there!
So, the thing is that - when I have 2 intersecting open filled paths, I really want to remove the outside path of one path using Shape Builder tool. But I want the second path to stay open. and the first path to become closed. It may sound as a picky request. But I struggle with this issue everyday, like, 20+ times.

Dimension Tool Ungroup to edit
To be able to ungroup the dimension, created with the dimension tool so it can be edited. The only way I have found how to edit it is expand appearance. And that duplicates it a number of times so you need to delete the duplicates first.
7 votesRecent builds offer a native way to hide units in live dimensions, so there is no need to expand these to hide them manually or use the Find and Replace hack anymore

Make Global Edit work with guides
Guides in Illustrator are treated like objects. It does not suite everyone, and there is a request to make them a completely separate entity, like ones in InDesign, without them being able to get selected with 'normal' object, get grouped, etc.
Still, when a selection of a guide is made, it is expected for it to behave like a selection would do. We can transform them (rotate scale, flip, move), hide/lock individually... and it feels normal for a selected guide to be affected by the Global Edit feature.
However, it does not :(

Anchor point sliding (reposition point tool)
It would be nice to have an Anchor Point Slide function that transfers the anchor's position along the path without disturbing it, the same way nodes work in a 3D software. I find it very frustrating when I'm trying to reposition an anchor point without altering the path, but there's no way to do that.

Remove overlapping lines
Exported CAD drawings often contain many overlapping lines.
This makes such drawings difficult and cumbersome to work with, and often makes Illustrator hang.
The possibility to select an entire group of objects and, via a tool in the Object menu, remove all lines which extend parallel to and within a certain threshold distance from another line, would be great.7 votes -
Add values labels to the graph tool
Please, add the value labels feature to the graph tool.
Currently, it is possible through a weird code and design symbols. Although graphs are not supposed to have value labels, clients are all the time asking for that. Adding one by one, by hand, is time consuming.
Since Adobe bought Freehand MX, you could open its code and learn from there.

An option to ignore locked layers with the eyedropper tool
At the moment, if you have a locked layer above the layer you are working in, the eyedropper tool selects colors and properties of the top layer - the locked layer - instead of the (unlocked) layer you are working on.
This causes frustration as every time you want to eyedrops something, you have to make a bunch of layers invisible first.
If an option could be added to the eyedropper tool, such as "ignore locked layers", this problem would be gone completely and working with Illustrator would be a lot smoother and faster.
This could be an option under…

Move selected anchors by coordinates
In InDesign when you select some specific anchor points on a path with the direct selection tool, and want to move them x- or y-wise, you can enter the value and hit return to make the selected points move accordingly. Or you can move them by dragging them.
Here is what it looks like:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/gk9qk6eqvdvn41p/indesign_points_moved.mov?dl=0If ypu try to do the same in Illustrator, it works as long as you drag the anchor points by hand, but if yo try to do it by entering x- or y-values the whole object moves, not only the anchor points selected.

Free transform should function the same as photoshop free transform
Free transform function in Illustrator is good, but to have another function that acts the same way as Free Transform in Photoshop would be really helpful.

Easier way to do charts and graphs
PLEASE come up with an EASY and SEAMLESS way to export excel charts into Adobe Illustrator! Please! I have over 153 bar and pie charts I have to create from a pivot table in excel, which is arduous and time consuming. The chart feature in Illustrator is awful and confusing to use as well. I’ve been doing charts the same way for years by copy/pasting from excel into illustrator and having to remove about 10,000 clipping paths. Surely there is something you can that will make it easier to do charts. An extension? Maybe play nice with the @micsrosoft developers?…

Graph Data Label Decimal Exision
Previous versions of Illustrator's graph data labels matched the decimal points defined in the "Cell Style" field. The current version of CC removes any zeros at the end of the label - e.g. "3.00" is changed to "3", or "4.20" is changed to "4.2".
According to Adobe's Customer Care, this is an intended behaviour - but could it be an optional one? Having to manually append zeros to hundreds of labels is not an appealing prospect.

Please support for CAD functions
Pleased support CAD functions natively in illustrator like CADtools or CAD-COMPO, I consider that these functions are very important.
