  1. DXF format support

Can u add DXF format support, to directly open in Illustrator. Now i open DXF in Corel and save to PDF and then open in Illustrator for working. I am into apparel/fashion field. Garment patterns are important to be opened in actual size so we add prints and other embellishments to actual and see.

  3. Export elements / assets in more formats than default ones, maybe ALL. Plugin or option needed

Any way or plugin to export elements / assets in other formats than default ones by Illustrator? Especially DXF files. It's killing the workflow to jump to the dropdown every single time...

  4. Automated/AI-powered file names in Asset Export

Asset Export needs more options to automate and/or use variables. Designers often need to export large groups of files (e.g. variations of a logo in multiple colours and sizes, with/without a claim or other element) which then have to be tediously and manually renamed and sorted to reflect things like size, color.
It would be great if there were more option to automate the output by adding variables such as dimensions custom text fields, names of swatches used, etc This could even be an area where the use of AI might be useful to automatically detect the content and create…

  5. Add a way to resize an exported image with Export As method to a specific size, like Save for Web can

In the old "Save for Web" function (please keep it!) it was possible to resize "on the fly" the destination image (EG my file is 8000 px but I can save an exported version of 800 without opening and resizing afterwards)
In the "Export as.." function none of this is possible.

  6. Export multiple artboards with 'Save for web'

It would be very useful and a huge time-saver to have the option to export multiple artboards with 'Save for web'. Currently you can only do 1 artboard at a time, and if you have a lot of artboards to export then it gets old real fast and takes up valuable time.

Auto-populating the file name would be amazing too. When you do a regular export, it exports the files with what you named each artboard. But when you do 'Save for Web', you have to enter the file name each time.

  7. Version history to log a new version upon opening old file

As of now, Version History deletes old versions after 30 days unless it was marked manually, which is fine and makes sense. However, as you open a more-than-30-days-old file that was not marked and you modify it beyond your History limit, there is no way you can revert back to the original file, at least if you have the autosave enabled, which is to be expected.

I therefore suggest to automatically log a version as you open a file that didn't contain any (more than 30 days old...)

  8. make it easier to export

make it easier to export things...

1 - add convert text to outlines as a check box when exporting pdfs...

2 - add convert lines to outlines to shapes when exporting svg...

3 - have a check box to expand compound shapes when exporting svg

make it easier to cut copy and paste from figma to illustrator and vice versa.

  9. Give us true list view for exporting artboards

I would like an actual list view where artboards are in a list, show native dimensions, and any other meta that makes sense. Current multi column view truncates text and thumbnail size can't be scaled.

  10. Export Oversampling

    Problem:
    - Often when exporting from AI at 1x scale the anti-aliasing quality is not optimal.
    - My current workaround is to export at a larger size and downsample in PS. I typically require 1x and 2x sizes, so I will export at 4x and then choose a resampling algorithm based on the artwork.

    Goal:
    - Imrpove the image quality of exported images from AI

    Proposed Solution:
    - Add ‘Oversampling’ as a per-scale export option, this could be done with the following parameters:
    - Oversampling [toggle] : on, off
    - Quality [combo] : 2x, 4x, 8x, etc.
    - Resample Mode…

  11. Export revisions only

When making minor updates to an existing presentation or pdf, option to "Export Revisions Only" to an existing file name or pdf - similar to Adobe Acrobat's new feature to detect changes between similar documents, this feature allows you export/update only the pages with revisions into an existing .pdf file. This saves a lot of export time when a client asks for several small revisions to a 10-20+ page presentation or document.

  12. Add Color Mode "BITMAP" to TIFF Options in FILE->EXPORT->EXPORT AS

Add Color Mode "BITMAP" to TIFF Options in FILE->EXPORT->EXPORT AS

I regularly export high resolution ( 1440 dpi ) black and white tiff images from illustrator. Right now they must be exported as grayscale and then I have to open them in photoshop and convert them to 1 bit images and resave.

  13. Export for Screen Preset system is a FIASCO

As comments for this thread are closet, I start a new one.
    https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/32015539-custom-presets-for-asset-export-export-for-scree

This Preset thing is a disaster. It doesn't fix any issues I have with Export For Screens.

It doesn't save the Folder for the export. So I have to set it every time I open my document, as Illustrator set it to the same folder as where my AI document is. This was, and now still is, my major problem with Export for Screens.

Also, I have to select the Preset every time I open my AI file. The least I was hoping was that the settings…

  14. Need "Save a Copy" suffix checkbox option, like "Export As"

Much like the recent fix to the "Export As" dialog box which added a filename 'Suffix' checkbox option when saving an image or images, would it be possible to also get a Suffix checkbox option added to the "Save a Copy" dialog box? When I need to generate a PDF using Save a Copy (my go-to method, less cumbersome than Print>PDF) which is several times per day, I don't want "copy" added to the filename and I have to remove it every single time before saving. Thanks.

  15. Export 3D elements with ALL of the faces separated.

Please give us the ability to export 3D elements created in Ai with ALL of the faces separately (bevels, extrusion, front/back), so that they can be colored or textured individually. It would be very valuable and save time to have this in one app, just as is/was in Ps. thank you!

  16. Can you add the option to make a multipage pdf from the variable dataset export? Needed for compatibility with printing software

Currently when exporting vardatasets, you get a single page pdf per dataset.
When making stickers some printing software cannot apply printing and contour cutting on multiple images.
I would be nice if the datasets can export a multipage pdf, or if an action can be made that creates artboards from datasets instead of exporting.

  17. HDTV and other Film & Video Presets

Please make presets without all the green stuff (see screenshot), and with a black background, since RGB is additive color mixing, which starts on black rather than on white. See how your After Effects fellows deal with video :-)

I personally never need rulers and a center mark, since we exactly know where objects are, and where the center is by using Smart Guides and Transform.

(But I am curious who likes all the green clutter you have to clear when starting a document based on these presets.)

  18. Better integration of User Templates

Saving a User Template is not very convenient, since the Templates folder has not the right privileges initially. Why not create a folder in ~/Documents/Adobe in stead of a rather undescriptive folder named 'Cool Extras' in the Application folder?

  19. Please Support the File Info feature for SVG files

When saving files in SVG format, we can't currently save File Info, such as copyright, file name etc. You can fill it in but it disappears when you open the file again. I was told but Adobe that the File Info only works with .ai files and they suggested I ask about it here.

This is valuable to me because I can record copyright information with each SVG file.

  20. Window of "Save for web" > could you first load a small image?

Window of "Save for web" >could you first load a small image (like 1000 X 1000) and then allow US to make it bigger if necessary? Load time is so long. It can take up to 2 minutes (with a good 2021 computer), if the software doesn't crash.

    Thank you!
