Prevent Conversion of Outlined Text to Editable Text
The Retype convert to live type feature makes it too easy for clients, vendors, and 3rd parties to convert uneditable work into editable work. It's a nice tool for your own work, but it is potentially bad for business.
Please add permissions features that allow us to control whether or not our files (PDF/AI) can be manipulated in this way by others or reconsider rolling out the Retype conversion feature.
Please DO NOT roll out the Retype convert outline to live type feature unless this protection is added to illustrator.

No longer can copy, the copy in a text box and paste it outside of illustrator I would like to see this fixed.
No longer can copy, the copy in a text box and paste it outside of illustrator I would like to see this fixed. Should be able to copy and paste it to any file if it is text and paste it elsewhere. It currently brings it over like an image

Spellchecker exception
I work on thousands of Illustrator files, often just proofing or looking for errors. The addition of the spellchecker was great for speeding up my visual scan of the files, but...
It works as it should in area text, but if there is point text with forced line breaks, every word at the beginning of a line which is not capitalised gets flagged as an error which defeats my quick visual scan.
I've had to write an action to select all text, convert it to area text, and then remove paragraph breaks so that I can see the spelling mistakes…

create outlines into groups
It would help my pre production workflow a lot if it was possible to automatically create "separated" groups from text objects when I use create outlines on big chunk of text. For now one text block equals one object. It could be a function allowing me to produce single groups for every line shift for example.

Allow apple’s “accent menu” to be used inside Adobe apps, instead of repeating the character endlessly.
Currently if you press and hold a physical keyboard button, it just repeats the character like this sssssssssss.
If the macOS feature “accent menu” works in future versions of Adobe apps. Typing in other languages that use accents like Italian (for example è and ì) would be easier. Instead of typing on another word processor then pasting into Adobe app. You can type è é ê ë ē easily on an English keyboard.1 vote -
For when you're creating graphics in different Middle Eastern or south asian languages there should be a option to format the whole artboad
When you don't know the language in which you're designing you can miss formatting text boxes. They end up being gross errors in your final output.
Also, it requires too many steps even now.
A button to format the text on an entire artboard would really save a lot of time!1 vote -

Adobe fonts do not auto activate reliably. Constant issues with Adobe fonts activating properly.
Your product does not auto activate and integrate "Adobe Fonts" properly. Fonts constantly fail to load or activate from the Adobe fonts library.
When features like this are not available, you are selling us a product that does not work. Everyone paying for an adobe subscription should be refunded based on the value of the feature. I.e. we should all be refunded for the value of PANTONE color use your app lost... why are we constantly paying to subscribe to a suite of programs that does not live up to the features promised? Send me a letter when the class…

Fonts do not displaying on Character panel
Select the text inside the illustrator and character panel is empty, never show any fonts be using. My computer didn't install the fonts but can display correctly in illustrator.
When exported to PDF, can check the fonts is using Lora-Bold.I'm really frustrated and worries, how to check incoming files if always having this issue.
Please help on this method.

too hard to change text size
it's too hard to change text size in the small boxes in the character window. Hard to select all the content. Hard to select the number part only. And both of these are the only way to make it work. Please just change behavior so that clicking in the box selects all the content.

1. Clicking the caption of a field selects all the content in that field.
2. Clicking the field itself sets the cursor in the exact location of the click.
So anyone can choose the behaviour they prefer.

Disable Text Auto-Formatting
In Illustrator 2023 came the addition of auto-formatting being applied to text.
Specifically bullets, hyphen bullets, etc.
This should have an option to permanently disable, as it is a nuisance and an efficiency problem to have to turn off every single new text block.
Seriously, Adobe looked at one of Word's most broken features and decided to ram it into Illustrator? The least you could do is look at a good implementation of it like on Google Docs!
But nope, we get terribly formatted, non-customizable, defaulted bullet auto-formatting.
At least give me a preference setting to turn it off permanently.

1 voteThere is a way to disable this feature: Preferences > Type > Automatic Bulleted and Numbered lists while typing.
However, the fact it’s that obscured and is not given to a user when a conversion happens is a bad UX indeed. In some other apps this choice is given, even when it’s not the first one.

Illustrator is always disconnected from Creative Cloud
Illustrator refuses to load my fonts and color library. It doesn't sync with the creative cloud until much later if at all. I'm a design intern and it's extremely important I use our specific font and colors so not being able to access this really sets me back on my projects.

Include "Juneteenth" in the Shared Adobe Dictionary
Juneteenth became an official US holiday last year and has been celebrated unofficially since at least 1886.
Shockingly though, the word is not in any Adobe dictionaries.
I propose adding it to the shared dictionary and pushing the update to all applications. I have tested this in multiple apps, and all show it as an error and suggest "Nineteenth" instead.
This is a critical DEI omission, especially this month.

Character panel in Properties Tab needs just one more row, please!
The Properties Panel is great. It contains about 98% of every tool I need typically. However, I would be great to have at least ONE MORE ROW of the Character panel visible. Certainly everyone uses Scale when setting type? It's a fundamental necessity. This would prevent having to click MORE OPTIONS every single time just to horizontal scale. Simple but huge. Thank you.

Please Address Ongoing Bugs in Font Activation
Despite recently getting a fix, there is still a problem involving fonts deactivating, and Illustrator listing those same fonts as active.
I'm still constantly going to the website to deactivate and reactivate fonts, and it's annoying.
Just this afternoon I had this problem with Lato, HWZ Artz, and Wigwag. However I've seen this problem with many others before.
Can't we just store these things locally and keep them there??1 vote -
Option to Reset Character & Paragraph Panel
Provide an option or a button to reset all the values of the character and paragraph panel.
1 voteThis can be done by clicking [Normal Character/Paragraph Styles] items in Character / Paragraph Styles panels (Window > Type >). These styles are also redefinable.
