Why is the home screen showing all the time now in CC2019? I would like the option to NOT have it come up when I open AI. please.
3 votesOne can disable this behavior in Preferences > General, 'Show The Home Screen When No Documents Are Open' option.
If disabling it still makes the home screen show up for you — please make a comment.

Collapse library groups by clicking on group titlebar.
Love that we can now create library groups. However, in order to collapse/expand a group, we can only click on the little arrow. It would be nicer if we could click, or double click on the group title-bar to make collapsing/expanding faster. That arrow is little and takes extra time to make sure you're right on top of it if you want to expand/collapse a group.

Screen resolution of Illustrator 23.0 - Not recognising retina display?
Just downloaded the new Adobe Apps as an update. All fine except illustrator. It looks massive on my screen. Seems it's not seeing retina display or can't work out the size of my display. Attached are two screenshots. One is illustrator window looking massive and Photoshop looking as it should.

Make a default workspace for "Illustration."
The software is called "Illustrator." Seems like there should be an "Illustration" workspace.
3 votesThanks for the suggestion. Which panels would you like in such a workspace? Do share your thoughts.

Less Application Chrome
Illustrator could have less application chrome.
- Ability to remove scrollbars and status bar
- Ability to disable "Application Bar" while "Application Frame" is selected (Controls take the place of the Application Bar)
- Adjustable-height panels e.g., a Swatches panel that's sized according to the number of swatches, not some fixed height
- Mac-native full-screen mode that hides the macOS menu bar (without having to toggle AI's view mode)
etc etc etc etc

Using the very top menu bar to hook panels
It's frustrating to have artboards covered by panels, it could be great to use the first top bar to hook the panels like AE.

Open dialogs on top of window in windowed mode
When working with multiple displays, dialogs (like saving, etc.) open on the display with the dock.
This does not work well in windowed mode when the window is on the other display. It is not always obvious whether the dialog actually opens because it is often hidden behind other things on the main display. Because you can't interact with the document until the dialog is dismissed, it can feel like Illustrator has frozen.
Is there a way to open the dialogs on top of the active window instead? This would place them in context and they would not get lost.…

Support (like all other software) Ctrl-Ins, Shift-Ins and Shift+Del for Copy, Cut and Paste
It's a common behavior on windows the Ctrl-Ins, Shift-Ins and Shift+Del for Copy, Cut and Paste.
Adobe software doesn't support this at all.3 votes -
Ability to invert the zoom direction when using option+scroll.
I'm scrolling down to zoom in & up to zoom out (using option+mouse scroll)- there should be an option available to invert this methinks. Just seems that it should be the other way around.

Magic Wand tolerance slider more convenient.
Please make the tolerance slider for the Magic Wand tool more convenient.
Two clicks (or three) is unnecessary.
C'mon team. The tolerance slider could be immediately available on the Magic Wand Palette.
Simultaneous numbers with the slider would be ok.
The tolerance number could be visible as a "hover" with a blank space for anyone seeking a specific tolerance.
Please make the slider immediately available. Thank you.

Multi panels for "Layer Panel"
in case of more than 50 layers it difficult to move top layer under button layers. as we need to do scrolling
Ability to open multi panel can enhance that work flow and make easy to move layer under other layers by moving one layer from first panel into second layer panel.

Scale Library Palette Icons
It would be nice to be able to scale the size of the icons displayed in the Library palette. At the very least, have a few choices beyond one size.

Make panel layer thumbnail and text size scale able and part of default settings.
In general allow for scaling of text in the UI, especially the layer panel. I have to strain to read the layer descriptions. Since I work a lot in After Effects I have to name all my layers. It would be easier to work if I could just glance over instead of working hard to read the little font sizes. I should note that I have a super high definition screen. Also these settings should be in the program settings so that on launch they are always the same no mater what document you open.

Illustrator interface redesign like XD
Illustrator needs redesign because it feels bloated and outdated so I had made quick concept of new clean minimalistic interface inspired by your other tool XD.

Transparent palettes when cursor is out from palette
I offer to do ability to make palettes transparent when it's floating and when cursor is not on palette.
Floating palettes allow to use Tab to switch them off without redrawing window — it's make more comfortable and fast work.
And to don't use Tab every time I think that it will be more comfortable to made it transparent.3 votes -
Make Animated zoom and Scrubby zoom as two different settings, as in Photoshop
I love the GPU animated zoom when scrubbing/dragging the canvas.
BUT no that it starts zooming automatically when the mouse is pressed down less than a second.
It’s extremely annoying. In Photoshop when you deactivate the Animated Zoom you can still scrub/drag the GPU zoom.
If you deactivate the Animated Zoom in Illustrator you can only do the classic stepped zoom, but not drag to have the animated zoom.
Can you add the feature to make it so that you can disable the automatic Animated Zoom but still keep the animated scrub/drag zoom please, just like in Photoshop.
