New Customizable Toolbar need a way to Lock
Customizable toolbar absolutely needs to have a way of locking it!

Has this been resolved in an update? This is incredibly annoying and disrupts my workflow so much. Probably spend 5-10% of my time when working in Illustrator trying to figure out where my tools moved to. It's really amazing they decided to do this but obviously was not tested correctly.

I don't like what's been done to the AI tools. I'm tired of having to select advanced each time I open up AI. Horizontal Type tool is missing! I had to create a toolbar just for the horizontal Type tool and that is ridiculous. Why in the world is that not defaulted within the advanced Type tool or the basic type tool set. This is very annoying.

Fix your f***ing toolbar. This is by far the most annoying thing to anyone who works regularly in the app. I can't believe you clowns launched such an inferior update and didn't think enough to make locking the toolbar an option. What a joke.

Tell me about it, Pete. I just upgraded to it over the weekend and every time I go to use a tool, it takes me a sec to find it because they've all been rearranged so easily.Completely frustrating.

I just updated to the newest version of illustrator, and I keep finding I'm accidentally clicking and dragging tools in the tool palette without noticing, then nothing is where I need it to be and its costing me a lot of time. Why isn't there a way to disable this 'feature' or lock them down?

Hi All. A little good news.... I just got off the phone with Adobe billing. I really had to explain for a while to get them to understand what my issue with this toolbar is and that it's basically made AI2019 unless to professionals until they fix it. After pressing them they issued a free 3 months of CC to me. I felt that I was entitled to a credit of some sort. It worked!

I gave up reading Brian's comments and downgraded to the 2018 version. Can't wait 4-5 months for an update. We are looking at how we can hold off on renewing our license on creative suite. Is there a legal recourse over here on all the lost productivity?

I think this is related to how it now takes an extra second longer to click and hold to find a new tool, so you end up dragging them into new locations for no reason. Change the delay back to what it was.

Over 30 years of graphic design...and never have I been so frustrated by an update. If these were physical tools in a workshop...or a surgeon's tools, they would always be put back in exactly the same spot. Nothing interrupts the creative workflow more than reaching for a tool that's not there. I think you get the message Adobe. But otherwise thank you for your awesome stuff.

Well, folks...
I spent 45mins on the phone with Adobe regarding this issue. I spoke with a Cust. Serv. Rep named Pulkit and then his manager named Dibak and both advised me they are aware of the issue but it is not big enough of a problem to push out an update for it. So they will be rolling out an update within the next 4-5 months. Until then, in the words of Dibak, we are to "deal with it." I won't post all the cuss words I said Dibak after giving me that answer but know that some folks did get their ***** chewed by this disgruntled user.
If others want to try their luck and yell at some Adobe employees, the number I called was 1-800-833-6687 and the pressed 0 probably eight times before getting to a live person. The Case # they gave me was ADB-5100329R9K4 so use that as reference.

Ohhh - you stacked the direct selection tool in to the same box as the pen tool! Why???? I am trying to have a smooth work flow and you keep putting spokes in my wheels - stop messing!!

This is happening to me too. I work on the clock so it is really problematic. I have had a litany of issues since I changed to new Mac os combined with latest AI - it crashes all the time, the tools keep disappearing - it was fine before and now I can barely stand to use it :-( .

I totally agree we are all paying a premium subscription fee to have our work flow disrupted!
This version of illustrator crashes 4-5 times a day, and I am resetting my tool bars about 10 time a day! I should be billing adobe for my lost time!
THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED ASAP... and we should be compensated financially for the faulty service we pay for.

What is taking so long? I really feel like there should be a prorated discount of sorts for the duration of this completely unnecessary customizable toolbar, this AI is my bread and butter like im sure that most designers would concur - been a cc subscriber for a long time... cmon get with it?!

I have gone back to AI 2018 because of this. I use illustrator all day and the tool bar moving around every time I go to select a tool isn't something I can deal with. It's costing me a lot of time and decreasing my productivity. PLEASE MAKE A LOCK OPTION. As a person with a CC membership I cannot justify keeping the membership if this is the direction .ai is going in.

Yes, this is, happening too after upgrading to CC 2019.....between this and pages freezing we have to constantly keep restarting illustrator in order to continue working. Never had any issues with prior versions. Frustrating is an understatement.
