The ability to customize the tools panel is great, but It needs a lock. I keep accidentally moving the tools around and have to keep cliking reset.

The moving tools are nightmare and are virtually unusable. . . constantly switching from advanced to basic and back agin to reset it. . .
PLEASE ADD AN OPTION TO LOCK THE TOOLS IN PLACE - VERY SOON!!!!!!
Why anyone would want to move their tools around is beyond me? User testing before release would have flagged this as completely unusable surely. . .

Such a frustrating issue! Why do they insist on change for changes sake? Did anyone actually ask for this functionality?!

I the new Illustrator CC 2019, my toolbar is constantly changing due to the drag function of moving tools into different groups / positions is incredibly sensitive.
This is really disruptive to my workflow as I keep having stop and locate where tools have moved to e.g. if I click on one tool (such as group selection tool, that doesn't have a shortcut key) for a slight moment longer before moving back to my workspace, I will find it has moved to a completely unrelated tool group.
If this new customization function is here to stay then I would suggest simply adding a padlock feature to the toolbar panel so I can stick to a UI I am happy with and avoid continuously effecting the layout.

I had reverted to 22.1 until I realised that any files created with the newer version would open with the weird multiple clipping mask thing (this must be on purpose as I can't believe they haven't resolved this issue). I'm still weighing up which is the more annoying - the randomly moving tools, the random clipping masks on or having to open both versions so I can save down the file for opening in 22.1

Yes -The tools don't just move back to some default, they randomly move around and even group together in different groups!

Yes, they do move without touching them. Anyone who didn't see my post earlier, you can revert to 22.1 through Creative Cloud app. I did for now.

Anybody else noticing that the tools are moving even without clicking on them? I leave my desk only to find my toolbar rearranged upon arriving back.

I wonder how far we are from an actual update for this. It's been absolutely crushing to my workflow.

Totally agree – I'm continually resetting my tool pallet throughout the day - this needs to be fixed. Or an option of locking the tool Pallet. Plus the reflect tool is disappearing (not hidden beneath rotate).

I agree. Why would the selection tool be grouped with text? I found clicking on the 3 dots at the bottom of the tool pallet brings up another pallet, select the 3 small bars on the top right corner and choose Basic. So far tools have stayed in the original position.

I agree that the new toolbar needs a 'lock' option . The number of times a day that I need to reset the toolbar because I've accidentally dragged a tool somewhere it shouldn't be is ridiculous. Being able to customise is great in theory but it's too easy to move a tool and to not realise you've even done so which makes it completely unworkable in practice. I will be reverting to the v22.1 until this is resolved. Please sort this asap.

Multiple times daily I have to interrupt my workflow to sort out my toolbar, it's beyond frustrating. What on earth were you thinking?

To get back other version of Illustrator you have to click into the Creative Cloud manager app, go to Illustrator, click on the little arrow tab beside it, and click Manage - there is an option there to install other versions.
