Please update and remove the current, old menu system where you have to actually know the exact name in thousand menus and use the new system that is already been for years in After Effects and Premiere Pro. Also please let me add things to keyboard shortcuts that are not in Menus or a Tool such as toggle layer visibility.

Yes, like Blender, we can assign shortcuts simply clicking with right button over the feature, and more, we can add any feature to a custom favorite contextual menu.

having to record an action, then write a script then assign a shortcut to that script that contains "ctrl", then use a third party software to remap that key combination to another key stroke. This is just ridiculous both in Illustrator and Photoshop.

I'd love to work in Fullscreen mode without any menus or interruptions.
I'd love to have shortcuts to increase/decrease stroke size, make basic Pathfinder operations, and basically assign whatever shortcut I want to any of the functions without the limitation of UI or the F keys/ctrl thingy.
Another thing, I got used to proportional resizing without holding Shift in photoshop. It's a neat feature but it is more useful in Illustrator since most of the time no one wants to skew his design but simply resize it. Add it to illustrator. The community would hate it then love it.

Adobe—why are we still waiting on this? Keyboard shortcuts are a no-brainer. This is a must-have.

I personaly gave up to wait for adobe. Nothing happend in the last years that have improved
keyboard shortcuts.
Now i have a tool called keyboard maestro. I can set keyboard shortcuts like i want. F-Keys or other things. This helped a lot and calmed my frustration a bit.

ps. i dont get money from them. just my personal preference

fyi Mark, object>path>reverse path direction exists now and can be assigned a shortcut, but this by no means obliviates my desire for tons more shortcuttable items in general!

Or also the f-keys.

than this program would be usable and we dont have to use indesign for most of our work.
Because in indesign we can use every key and combination with command and option and control as we want.

Please. I just went to assign shortcut keys to all the "align" shortcuts like I have in InDesign and you can't! This has made me think Ill be better off doing the drawings in InDesign as I align things so often and it's so much quicker with shortcut keys (I use a combination of ctrl (and shift) and the arrow keys: copied FileMaker Pro, of all things!)

Adrian - yeah, this was the first thing I thought of when the feature was brought up. I can target almost everything in Photoshop with shortcuts, but I can't even get at Paste Remembers Layers with a script. I run into stuff that I can't hotkey a lot in Illustrator, but that one's a pretty critical toggle to be so buried.

YES. Will make a separate suggestion specifically for "Paste remembers layers", but everything would be just fine.

Some functions are just not accessible to people using international keyboards.
In example: "Transform pattern (independent of object) when using Selection tool, Scale tool, Reflect tool, or Shear tool" >>> Tilde (~)-drag.
I cannot access this with my French Keyboard. I have to remap my keyboard or virtually change it.
Assign keyboard shortcuts for everything is definitely the way to go imho.

Mark, reversing path direction can be done with a script. They don't drop now from actions, so this thing, at least, can be automated. Anyway, this task should be accessible from the box, sure.

This this this! I'm always needing shortcuts for things that can't be shortcutted or even recorded in actions.

Right now, I'm wanting a shortcut for reversing stroke direction. That can't be made into a shortcut so I try recording an action. It doesn't pick up selecting alternate ends of the path as an action, so I try "swap start and end arrowheads". That picks up the entire stroke appearance and applies it every time I run the action, so that's no good.

So yeah... assignable keyboard shortcuts for everything would be great.
