Reverse compatibility between IPad and desktop files, currently I can export from iPad to desktop. But desktop Ai files don’t export to iPad
Making it so that I can move my work seamlessly between my iPad and my desktop. iPad Air has some great features I cannot recreate on my desktop and vice versa. The one way compatibility is stunting my workflow and makes it impossible to have a positive workflow between the two.

Do Not Change/Select Random Colors When Creating Gradients
When switching from a Solid color to a Gradient, the app will choose a (seemingly) random secondary color in order to visually show the gradient effect.
I would prefer that all points of the gradient maintain the singular ‘Solid’ color.
This is because I very often want to create a subtle gradient between a darker and lighter shade of the originally chosen color. More often than not, I need to copy the original color back into the new gradient point and then go from there - which can be frustrating because the app is making decisions for me that I do not want it to.
Alternatively, if the Gradient defaults to a very slightly lighter or darker shade of the default color as a way to show that the Gradient has been applied, that would be preferable to the current behavior.
Thanks Team! :)

Multi-Select multiple files to move, delete, duplicate, etc. all at once
I’d like the option to select as many files as I’d like on the Your Files page, so that I can move them all to a an existing folder, create a new folder and move them inside, duplicate or delete all files at once.

Being able to import Fresco iPad brushes to iPad illustrator and save them permanently to the illustrator brush library.
Fresco has a great set of brushes. It would improve Illustrator on the iPad immensely if they were interchangeable and could be added to the illustrator iPad brush menu permanently.

Make CC library (sub)folders and folder names visible
I work with various projects that each has separate collections, so I have my color swatches sorted accordingly into each collection folder in my CC Libraries for each project - which is great when I switch from Illustrator to Photoshop and other desktop programs. But on iPad version of Illustrator all swatches are in one huge messy mix of swatches without any kind of (sub)folders visible - I can´t believe that this basic functionality is still missing. Hope it will be improved very soon!

An eyedropper like the desktop that samples swatches, can apply appearances
If you apply global swatches to your artwork on the iPad, you can't use the eyedropper to accurately sample those colors/swatches to other objects. The eyedropper reads the color, but the formula numbers are slightly off, and it applies this to the object, rather than applying the swatch. Also, when I create a swatch on the iPad using whole numbers, when I open the file on the desktop, the swatch has decimal numbers. You can't type in any decimals on the iPad, and yet they are there on the desktop. Designers need accurate swatch functionality and a better eyedropper on the iPad.

Finger Gesture Workflow
I just started my trial for illustrator on iPad, and Im already upset because of this touch modifier button. Why am I forced as a user to use this touch modifier button? Why can’t I just use a 1 finger or 2 fingers ANYWHERE on the ipad screen to do primary and secondary behaviors? I dont want to use this touch modifier. I instead want to use my fingers because its easier and faster.
I hate how I SPECIFICALLY have to tap on this touch modifier button to do primary and secondary behaviors for different tools and actions. I want to use my fingers instead. I want a finger gesture workflow. Not a touch modifier workflow. Its like my finger is being shackled to this one touch modifier button and I have no freedom to just press down with my fingers anywhere on the screen to do these other primary and secondary behaviors. Adobe is saying, “Hey! You can ONLY put your finger right here on this touch modifier button and ONLY right here and you’re going to work this way because we say so.” Its just so unfair.
I should be able to lay 1 finger anywhere on the screen to do primary behaviors and then lay 2 fingers down anywhere on the screen to do secondary behaviors. I should not have to press the touch modifier key. Its very cage-like. Im being shackled to this one button. My finger is chained up to this modifier key and it can only go there to perform behaviors.
Theres the touch modifier workflow and then there should be a finger gesture workflow. I want a finger gesture workflow. I want to lay 2 fingers down anywhere on the screen and move an object to duplicate it. I want to lay 1 finger anywhere on the screen and scale my object non-proportionally. I want to lay 1 finger down anywhere on the screen and rotate my object in 45 degrees. I don’t want to lay my finger on the touch modifier key to do any of these behaviors.
Give users the option to have a touch modifier key workflow OR a finger gesture workflow. Im asking for a finger gesture workflow. All you have to do is replace the primary and secondary behaviors with 1 finger and 2 fingers gestures ANYWHERE on the screen. Thats it. Its so simple. And if you do offer us this finger gesture workflow, allow the user to turn off the touch modifier button in the app settings since we’ll be using our fingers instead and won’t need to see the touch modifier button on the screen.
The touch modifier isnt going away. Im just going to work a different workflow.

Blend Tool (for Illustrator iPad) Should also work for Font
at the moment blend for Illustrator iPad works only for Paths and isn’t applicable for fonts unlike in Illustrator for Desktop, hope this feature would be applied to future updates for the iPad version. Thank you very much.

Hand tool and scrolling with the mouse, horizontal scrolling as well (like a computer)
The shortcut H does not work on the ipad pro to access the hand tool, while this is the case on a computer. Scrolling up and sideways is also very important for my workflow. This is important for me to be able to pan around as I am using my iPad Pro as a laptop replacement.

Smart guides in Mirror Tool
I would love to see the mirror tool use smart guides. It is so hard to try and line up shapes without it.

Being able to rotate a shape or object on a specified area would be very useful. Because the radial has its limits.

Allow images files to be exported at higher resolutions
Option to export using dpi instead of ppi
Older versions of Illustrator used to have the option to export using dpi instead of ppi, when working with printing presses we need this option to be able to get good quality output without having to make images large by having to use 1200ppi to get best quality

Make ESC Key = CMD + Return
There is not a physical Escape (ESC) key on the iPad Pro Magic Keyboard.
On PC, I’m used to hitting CTRL+Enter to exit an active text object.Could we please make CMD+Return on the iPad exit an active text field?
Currently that Keyboard Shortcut is ESC. Which doesn’t exist. And the Apple version CMD+. Doesn’t work either. CMD+Return would be the most familiar and fluid option.4 votes -
Specific Export Options
Can we please get better export settings like size options (where we can enter real numbers, not 1x-4x), ppi resolution, color space, etc. There is too much that is automatic and to get the correct results I often have to go to the desktop version. Please add the same level of customization for exports as the desktop, or at least more professional options for the iPad :)
