Sean, it would help if you record a video or a GIF (LICEcap would help) to show how exactly it doesn’t work for you compared with large objects.

There are several ways we can achieve this now in Illustrator:
    1. Using custom scripts, like Join Reasonably
    2. Using VectorFirstAid plugin from AstuteGraphics

Sure it does not mean it should not be in Illustrator by default, on the contrary!

For now there are some ways to know a length:
    1. In Document Info panel, if you choose Objects in the panel’s menu
    2. Using custom scripts (there are plenty of the on the web, try searching 'path length illustrator'
    3. Third-party plugins, like Dynamic Measure from Astute Graphics

Star is now a live shape and available in the all the public builds starting from V 28.3.0.

You can now customise your star in any way you like; may it be changing the no of sides, corner angles, or even the corner radius.

Please try it out and let us know what y'all think !

Since AI allows to create Live Shapes now, there definitely should be a Live Spiral (and Archimedian too).

Oh yeah, Cat, Illustrator can cause outrages for sure!

If you are missing handles for resizing an object, it means your bounding box got disabled. It is easy to do accidentally with Cmd+Shift+B. You can also turn it back on via menu, View > Show Bounding Box. Hope I got it right.

Cmd+F works exactly like it always worked and should work — it pastes in front of the selection. Paste in Place is Cmd+Shift+V. Both of these commands duplicate, in place, just a little bit differently. Why do you think these should 'NOT duplicate'? Please elaborate.

If you have other issues, don’t hesitate to log them, just note that some might not be real issues, but just a regular incomprehension. Still log it anyway — it helps the team to understand what is wrong with the UX.

But please just log them as sperate issues, do not put everything in one entry. Good luck and solid patience.

I missed this plugin. It’s from 90's and I had not these specific tasks back then.
Do you mind showing a screenshot or a file with the art you’d want to 'de-distort'? If you happen to have more details on how Curveit worked (or works, if it’s in Esko’s arsenal — which is always tough to know) — please share also.

Alice, you’d have to demonstrate it.
Please show the original traced images, the settings you were using, the result you are getting, the expected outcome you were hoping to get.
Strange to discuss images without screenshots even. A test file would be even better, if you are OK sharing it publicly. If not — you can email it to sharewithai@adobe.com

There is a way to customize the positions of blended objects with Object > Blend > Blend Options. You can choose 'Align to Page' Orientation to keep objects aligned as they were originally drawn, unlike 'Align to Path', which rotates objects so they get aligned perpendicularly to the curve.

However, 'Align to Page' is usually enabled by default, so you’d have to tick the option to get the result you describe... Can you please show the image you are getting? It’s hard to see what you mean without pictures.

This is still true, and applies only to Windows.
I suppose Ai uses the native menu API to draw these, because I saw similar problems with multi-level menus in other programs.
Does not mean it’s not a bug though.

What should Ai do with the dialog open if you accidentally deselect the object? Or add something into selection? Please elaborate on your vision of this.
