The latest Beta 29.2.38 now offers a way to see the distances between a selected object and an object hovered over / edges of an artboard.
- Click on the object you want to measure the distance from
- Press Opt/Alt and hover over the object that you want to measure distance to
- You can also hover over empty area to see the distance from the selected object and the artboard boundaries

We have done further updates to Dimension tool with recently released version - 28.3
You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.

I create different types of art, and a problem that has occurred with my suppliers is that they move the art to move it and have access to edit the layers, even unintentionally or intentionally. Being able to password lock the layers for editing would solve this. And it's no use using the PDF, it must be the .AI or .EPS.
