An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Have a look at this loom video example. It continues in 26 or 26.1 to be an issue. Is it a Mac only issue? Attached is example file to use.

Place PNG
Place PNG (I am using same image)
keep adding more if you wantIn layers pallet Rename PNG <Linked File> to Style 1 or anything else
In layers pallet Rename PNG 2<Linked File> to Style 2
if more rename themSave file
Close File
Open FileAll linked images lost their name but the first one.
If this isnt repeatable for you it is occurring on Mac. I cannot confirm if works on PC. Ironically if I downgrade to 25 and reopen the file saved with 26.1 it still has the names but not in 26 or 26.1 -

In regards to "deselecting an artboard", I usually do something like make active artboard 1 in AS or 0 in Extendscript, neither seem to work very well now,. make sure nothing is selected and then make the active artboard the one I want to do something like paste in front or select all on active artboard on. But this doesnt work or resolve the issue anymore. When making artboards via script the default name is usually the Artboard number and it is usually the wrong number in the latest updates if that helps point you in the right direction for fix.An error occurred while saving the comment Here are the scripts in Applescript and Extendscript
An error occurred while saving the comment Attached are both AS and Extendscripts that show the issue. Start with 2 artboards and make sure first artboard has contents on it.

An error occurred while saving the comment it looks like manually doing this works. If I do it in extendscript or AppleScript it does it. Would you like me to post the scripts? It is definitely not a scripting error.

209 votesThe fix to this problem is pushed into general release 29.6 — but the team needs a confirmation from us, since the nature of the bug is elusive. Please try to see if it still happens or not and comment back. Otherwise the team plans to close this report as resolved.
An error occurred while saving the comment Adobe, I believe your attempted fix may be the root cause of the new bugs introduced in 26 surrounding Artboard and keeping track of active artboard, creating new artboard, name of artboard and the default naming of artboards being another number one higher than what it should be. See the bug I reported for detail if related.
