An error occurred while saving the comment PeZ commentedThat’s correct, the pattern options dialog. I often refer to it as pattern maker partially because the way to get there is “Object> Pattern > Make”.
Really it’s any thumbnail that slows it down for redraw, but especially in the Pattern Options window.
An error occurred while saving the comment PeZ commentedAs a workaround I generally shut the panel off in these instances which resolves the issue, but it would be helpful to have access to the rest of the features available within the dialog.

An error occurred while saving the comment PeZ commentedIt's fairly easy to repeat the color even in hex and the pattern maker in general. Only a small corner of a rectangle needs to be overlapping based on your overlap settings. It also tends to provide an easy guide for sizing your shape to make sure that the shapes overlap to ensure that your pattern is filled with a background color. Appearance panel is a good solve as well. An easy background fill option would be sweet thought.
Seems close to how it should function. Testing on mac. Full release 28.1.
1. It only finds additional links when the file is opening. If the file is already open and you try and relink it does not UNLESS the folder is renamed to "Links".
2. Relinking file dialog should be more descriptive of what you're relinking. ID falls short here too, normally a file path/name gets truncated, but in the Illustrator dialog, no file name shows up at all.
3. Create an alert like InDesign has that says "Searched this relink directory, and found and relinked # missing links."
