Hi Everyone,
This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Color Model selection for JPG is available in Export For Screens -> Advanced settings. Illustrator will allow you to choose - RGB, CMYK or Grayscale color model.
What's New in the release - https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new.html
Thank you for all the feedback.

Please provide comparison screenshots for the designs you can see a clear difference between these two export methods.
There is a related bug report, and perhaps the quality discussed here is actually a bug: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/38987995
Even if it’s somethings else, it’s not OK the request about image quality does not have a single image as an example. Please share!
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedYou need to select "Art Optimized" in the Asset Export/Format Settings. But I believe the export options interface should be enhanced and streamlined due to the fact that Illustrator is a superior tool to photoshop for creating web ready ads.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedSeems the problem might be from a monitor profile. Used the generic Color LCD profile rather than the factory monitor (Samsung) profile and it corrected my issue. USE THE "Color LCD" profile to solve the issue.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedWhen I select a solid color from a bitmap image (JPG, PSD, whatever) the color value is not accurate. Like if I have a solid color field and I select a color to fill a shape with they will not match. I have been forced to hop into Photoshop and get the hex value for the color then use that color value in Illustrator to match the bitmap to the shape area. Time consuming and annoying. Please fix or advise how to remedy. Note: The image and the workspace are both RGB. This is not a CMYK to RGB conversion issue. Macbook Pro, OS 10.14.6

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedNeed 16 bits!!! I'm working on a document using 16 bit images of a model and would like to retain the 16 bit output for the final print!!! Add this feature please. Actually can't believe it converts images to 8 bit!!!
Please add convert to sRGB function... and more.... A prefect export flow would be a hybrid between the current Illustrator and Photoshop schemas.
