So it’s obviously not fixed, and we all know it.

While the cursor gets changes into the horizontal/vertical two-headed arrow, the center handles for the bounding box indeed don’t appear, if the width/height of the art (here just an orthogonal line) is small enough.

Please continue to share you thought, screenshots, GIFs. It’s time to re-review this again.

There is a weird set of forums... this one actually has direct access to, and feedback from the development team. They have periodic webcasts showing new features, and the last one showed their priority list/schedule. They also have pre-release versions of the software available for testing and feedback. It's open to all users, but you're not to disclose the details outside of that space since they aren't final.

Yes please! I'd like to be able to use arrow keys to rotate through fonts when choosing. And that works, until I get to some of these weird fonts, then it gets stuck and I have to manually go to the list and choose a later font to keep going. This happens multiple times in the list.

This seems to happen rarely, but definitely happens. I haven't confirmed, but my theory is it happens after restarting the computer. Simply restarting the app doesn't do it. But when it happens, I can select multiple objects and a key object, and when I go to the palette, the distance field is grayed out. If I click one of the buttons, it will align things to zero spacing and the field will become available, but show no units, and use some unknown unit. If I de-select and reselect the objects at this point, it will usually start showing "in" as the unit and be normal again.

It's definitely not consistent... I ran into it earlier, which is what sent me looking for this. But now when I select items in the same file, it works as expected. I started a new document with new items and it worked. I even quit and re-loaded Illustrator and it works. I'm not in a position to restart right now, but whatever it is persists outside of the application.

    I'm having this problem too.
    Illustrator 23.0.3 on OS X 10.14.4

The field is not active when I select the elements and key object. If I click the distribute button, it becomes active, but no units are specified. I thought it was points, but I did 9 unit spacing and it measures 0.1528" which would be approximately 59 points per inch which is not correct.

It's definitely a bug. As someone said, shift-tab should get you there, but that takes you to OK. If you then tab back, it highlights the field and the rotate icon both. I think that is the intended operation, for both to be treated as one element, but the initial focus doesn't do this. Very frustrating! I'm disappointed to see this was reported long ago and is still unfixed.

This appears to be a duplicate of this ticket:
    https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/35777848-rotate-dialogue-box-is-now-painfully-inefficient

I did search prior, but didn't find this one.

If I select the rotate tool, have an object selected, and hit enter to bring up the dialog box, the rotate icon has the default focus, and the tab order from there means it's 5 steps to the text field to enter a value. In CS2018 and prior, I could immediately enter a rotation value. When I try shift-tab which should take me there, I'm taken to OK button and when I tab back, it highlights the angle and the icon. So I interpret that as a bug.
