Seriously, I don't really understand the practical application of the knife tool if you can't cut precisely along smart guides!! This is a must-have feature! And then, on the opposite side of the spectrum, I don't understand why the knife tool is so finicky when you use it freehand; why doesn't it just cut exactly where you draw your cursor?

I want this feature so badly. It is absolutely essential for horizontally aligning text of various sizes in neighboring text boxes!! Adobe, please add this! The most basic text editors have this feature, and for world-class design software not to have it is just insane!

Hi Everyone, This feature has been available since August 2020 release (version 24.3). Please update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html Thank you for all the feedback.

You can now select multiple layers in Layers panel. Click the bars (they get highlighted blue) if you want to operate layers and not their content (e.g. to drag to reorder) or click their markers to select their content — circle (target ones) or square (selection ones) next to them. There is no real difference which to pick, but if you want to select a range of layers, using Shift, use target markers.

I totally agree. I have wanted a Photoshop-style History Panel for Illustrator for years.

I mostly use Illustrator for desktop publishing (my company prefers Illustrator to InDesign, so it's the tool they have me use), and I print a lot of pamphlets that end up getting folded in complicated ways. Being able to rotate the view would be a lifesaver because much of my text ends up needing to face various angles to facilitate for the folds, and it's very difficult to edit when it's at a 90º angle or upside down!
