1. Show Appearance as a popup instead of a panel when clicking More button in Properties

   Selecting the ellipsis button in the Properties panel for the different sections opens a simple popup panel for further actions and self-closes.

   However, the Appearance section will pop out completely into it's own panel?
   This is annoying as I have to close the Appearance panel each time.

   This should be consistent like the others.

2. Restore a way to copy the value from another filed with a click on the input’s caption in dialogs

   Please bring back the one-click way to duplicate a value from one input field into another for dialogs.

   This was available from version 8 through CS5.
   Make it a toggle in Preferences.

   For example, if i wanted to make a square 100mm x 100mm I would select the rectangle tool (M) and then click once in the work area... the dialogue box would come up... I would then only have to enter 100mm into the Width,
   then click on the Height descriptor (not the white entry portion) and my dimension would be automatically duplicated in the entry portion of the height dimension.

   Please bring back the one-click way to duplicate a value from one input field into another for dialogs.

3. Rename updated Move locked and hidden artwork with artboard

   CC 2025 v29.0 introduces the long-awaited "Scale Artwork with Artboard" option.

   The checkbox in Preferences > Selection and Anchor Display > Move Locked and Hidden Artwork with Artboard now also affects whether locked or hidden objects are scaled with the artboard or not.

   I didn't realize this right away. When I tried to scale an artboard with a locked object, I got a warning and thought that the new feature just doesn't know how to scale such objects with an artboard. Only then did I realize that the existing option in the settings affects the function.

   Perhaps the naming of the option should be made clearer: Preferences > Selection and Anchor Display > Move or Scale Locked and Hidden Artwork with Artboard

6. Smart Guide object edges (on mouse hover) should be easier to distinguish from actual selected object edge

   With smart guides on, a selected object's edge outlines look the same as a rolled-over / mouse-over / hover-over object.

   With complex art, it's often difficult to distinguish if you have an item selected or not. Bounding box handles help, but It would be better if there was some additional attribute related to the actual outline. Perhaps a lower tint of the same guide color?

7. Ability to shift and organize projects on the Home screen

   Sometimes I want organize projects not based on time I worked on it or name, but just what I would like to be at the top, so I would like the freedom to move them around freely rather than having them restricted to those two choices.

8. Toggle Artwork Visibility Outside of Artboard

   The function of the w key in InDesign switches between preview and normal view. Why doesn't Illustrator have this functionality? It would be so useful as I usually prefer to use Illustrator when I'm initially laying things out for a design project. I've seen multiple requests for this functionality in the forums. Please please please add this!

   View > Trim View command does this. By default, it does not have a hotkey assigned to it, but you can map it to the one you prefer in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts.

9. For personal workspace and palette preferences carry over to updates.

   I have a highly customized workspace for my workflow. It would be nice to cary over all of settings and preferences from the previous version. With the rapid release of beta versions, it becomes a big issue and I lose a lot of time resetting my environment to accommodate my existing workflow.

   If this already exist, please tell me how to address it. Thanks!

10. Add Arrange Buttons in Control panel

    Its sometimes really frustrating to using two hands just for the arrange objects. Also right click menu is too time consuming just for the bringing an object to front. Inkscape handles this issue very well without messing up with layers menu or right clicking. They added 4 buttons to dock when an object is selected just for arranging objects easy and user friendly. I really seek this tiny feature in Illustrator.

11. Allow third-party developers to add dividers and custom sorting into Effect menus

    Third-party developers can add custom items in menus.
    Some create their own sub-menus, some add them in-between native commands... there are several practices they use and when they all get used together it feels somewhat chaotic.

    But it feels like this is because plugin devs can’t fully control the commands in menus. It turns out, they can’t control the order and sorting, add dividers in Effects (but seemingly can in every other menu)...

    Effect menu is the most weird menu in Ai, it looks different from others. Maybe that’s why?

    Why 'More Settings' button is hidden in the New Document dialog window?

    More Settings dialog should be a default window when creating a new document instead of random template presets that nobody are using.

14. Rename artboards and layers easily

    Please develop a method to easily rename artboards and layers. An option to switch between layers by pressing tab would be great. An option to find and replace text in artboard names would be perfect.
    At the moment renaming artboards is a time consuming process because you have to doubleclick every artboard separately and enter text.

    Ai now support pressing Tab while renaming difference items in panels, including layers, artboards, symbols, etc.

    Find and Replace in names is not yet an option, but there are many free scripts that allow that.

15. Close panel by a middle-click on its header

    Middle-click today is a common gesture.
    In browsers and file managers with tabs it allows to close a current tab.
    There is a feature request to allows us to close tabs in Ai as well: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/38150188-add-middle-click-to-close-document

    But I would also like to be able to close panel with a middle-click. Not collapse — this is what a left-click does — but just close the panel.

17. Files should remember proof setup

    Every time I open my files I'm having to force Illustrator back to proof as Monitor RGB. It keeps defaulting to Working CMYK which is no use on an RGB file.

    It would be great if files retained proof settings.

18. Provide an accurate information about the position for a guide while dragging from ruler

    Dragging a Guide from the rulers is not very accurate. Please add a way to see the exact position of the guide (preferably as an overlay near the guide, but in the Ai ecosystem maybe in the Info panel). And please let it snap to exact values when pressing Shift.

20. Shortcut "Make New Artboard"

    I need a shortcut to make a new artboard.
    same syntax as a new layer with Ctrl + L but for artboards

    There is no way to assign any kind of shortcut to this SO basic command, nor via action, shortcut editor, or script. And I'm aware of Shift + O
