  1. Unlock individual items

    Please add the ability to unlock individual items (instead of having to unlock all, then relock all but the one you need). We've been working around this for years, so when I noticed it was available in XD, I thought I'd ask for it to available in Illustrator

    Illustrator allows to unlock individual objects on canvas, if you enable 'Select and Unlock object on Canvas' option in Preferences, Selection & Anchor Display section.

    Also, you can right click on the spot that has your locked object, choose Unlock and then this item by its name, without enabling that option.

  2. integrate settings between Rosetta based release version and beta/prerelease

    I need to switch between rosetta illustrator (for Astute Graphics plugins) and the beta native version.
    Is it possible for them to share settings, or alternatively, would that be a workable feature?
    I'm sure there would be complications, but I have to ask.

  3. Create an Ungroup ALL feature on layer(s).

    It would extremely useful being able to select the artwork on the layer and clicking an ungroup all option This would speed up prepress production especially when there are multiple grouped objects on a layer.

  4. If you roll the mouse wheel over a property, count it as one "Undo"

    I love rolling the mouse wheel on properties to make changes and see them in real time, but I always think twice before doing it because I know that Undoing it will be a massive pain. Please count mouse rolls as just one Undo/Redo.

    similar to compare PDF's in acrobat - the ability to compare differences between ai documents. this is useful sometime if comparing artworks pre press or outlined versions compared to live type.

  6. A keyboard shortcut option for "Redefine Graphic Style" in the Appearance panel's menu

    I have shifted to a very Graphic Style-focused workflow lately and find myself constantly hitting this menu item when I'm figuring out exactly what a Style should look like. I would like to be able to assign a shortcut to it.

    It is currently nowhere to be found in the Keyboard Shortcuts panel. It is also one of the many, many actions in Illustrator that can't be recorded in an Action.

    Please, please add legacy menus and tools as an option for a workspace. I have been using AI 3 for years on my old G5 and recently went to a new iMac and bought the full line monthly for all Adobe programs. Acrobat is so much better, PS is tolerable, but AI is near impossible! Everything has moved, the tools react differently and I'm having a heck of a time trying to find everything!   11. Character and paragraph options should be deployed more easily in Properties and remain if desired

    I work in the printing house, and we make labels, our main software in this environment is Illustrator, it lacks a lot of things which are very useful in InDesign or Photoshop and winch cannot be found in Illustrator.

    Among these missing I find that the property panel should be improved, for example as for InDesign, the character and paragraph options should be deployed more easily and remain if desired without having to deploy the menu each time you use it.

  12. Make "Transform" in top toolbar show measurments without a click

    I wish Illustrator would show the dimensions of a selected object in the toolbar, like InDesign. Currently, I need to click on "toolbar" to make changes. It would be great if this didn't require an extra click. InDesign's toolbar is far more accessible.

  16. Select all the value at once

    Is it possible when clicking on a value such the shape, dimensions or text height etc. to select all the value so it can be replaced faster. Right now I have to delete the values number by number or select all with Ctrl-A then delete.
    It would be appreciated if you have the option to select all when clicking on it.
    It will save a lot of time.

  18. Each item in the document to have its own persistent history

    Linear document history seems very dated considering how much ram computers have these days, a hierarchical multi-dimensional object oriented history seems like a good idea. It would be amazing if I could choose to access the history of each item in the layers panel. it might work similar to file versioning solutions like GIT.

    This history could be optionally saved into the file or cloud library so it can be accessed across sessions.

  19. Make the "Object Selection By Path Only" and "Scale Strokes" and "Scale Corners" easily available

    Make the "Object Selection By Path Only" a check box in the Control panel. It is something that is very useful and very far tucked away in the preferences and VERY impractical for us to get to every few minutes.
    The same goes for "Scale Strokes" and "Scale Corners" and other options. These should be also accessible with keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys). I have been asking for these for years. I like to know who are the "professionals" that you consult with who don't run into these issues?

  20. Expand toolgroup on hover instead of long-click

    Holding a mouse button to open a tool group can be not preferred way for some users that have experience in other software packages. It would benefit them and others if Illustrator will provide an option and a delay in Preferences to open these with just a mouse hovering over tools.
