Allow gradient swatches to be added to CC library
It's great to have colors in the cc library but why can't those colors be gradients too? Please allow us to add gradient swatches to the cc library. Thanks

We have released the support for Gradient swatches in CC library with our latest release - v29.3
You can select the gradient swatch in swatches panel and add it to CC Library through the button on the bottom bar in the panel. You can also select any object which has gradient applied and add that gradient to CC Library through Add Elements from the Libraries panel and choose Fill Gradient from the drop-down menu.
Please update to this version from your Creative Cloud Desktop application and let us know your feedback.

I use quite a few gradients in my design work. I really need to be able to access them in my libraries for faster workflow.

It's going to be 6 years since this request... still can't add gradients to the CC Library, is that impossible?

I believe CC Libraries was added in CC 2018. I assume by "cloud-based version" you mean when the CC subscription started--AFAIK, there is no cloud version.
As a work-around, you can add objects filled with gradients to the CC Library. Then right-click to Place a Copy. The gradients will be added to the Swatches.

I swear this was possible in the first cloud based version of illustrator, the one that came out after CS6? Maybe this has been pending so long because they removed that functionality for some reason.
Is it possible to save a custom gradient in the default palette so that it persists in new documents and also documents that were created on a different system? I have a custom swatch palette which reappears in documents where I've added it before. but I have to open it every time I start a new document or open one sent to me by another creator.

I vote for this topic. Adding gradient in the CC Library and being able to use them through all Adobe software would be so helpful.
I hope this request will be considered by the Adobe team. -

Since there's defined gradients within the Corporate Design of my company, this would be very very helpful

As the title says. Please make gradient swatches compatible across Adobe programs so that I can put them in folders in Illustrator.

It's SO frustrating to see this feature in PS and not in AI. The best part of the CC is being able to seamlessly float between my favorite applications. This is definitely a time suck.

Important. I can't believe that it's not possible. Going forward, I will save graphics to CC Library in Illustrator, but this seems awkward.
As a first workaround, I used Capture from the libraries window in Photoshop. This allowed me to save my gradients (albeit again awkwardly) to my libraries, but they're not accessible in Illustrator!
See attached screenshot that says Capture / "linear library gradients are not supported in Illustrator.". On Mac Pro / Adobe Illustrator 2022.

This would help my workflow on a brand I'm working with pretty significantly! I like using libraries across the adobe programs so I always have my colors and key components available, and this feels like it's just missing.

@mark, yes it should not be limited to gradients but there are workarounds:
Global colors, gradients, brushes and pattern swatches are not supported in CC libraries.
But as a workaround you can drag an object using a brush/pattern/gradient/global color to the CC Library
You can also drag multiple items using different brushes/patterns/gradients/global colors together into a CC library to simulate a library.
The easiest way to add them to a new document is to hold down the Alt key when you drag them from the library and place them in a new document. The patterns/gradients/global colors automatically get added to your swatches panel.
You can hit escape before you click to place the object(s) or delete the dragged library items because the swatches and brushes are now part of the document. -

This idea should include *all* swatches, pattern fills, and should also be able to save brushes to libraries.

please make this happen. And while you are at it, make a Senai AI extension that can create illustrator / Photoshop gradients from bitmaps.

Please make this happen. If it can exist in a 'local library' like Swatches/Symbols/etc. it should be able to exist in a shared Library too.

Also, fill patterns, please.
