"recolor artwork" undo
CAn we have an option to undo within the "recolor artwork" panel?
Yes, the Recolor dialog does not have its own undo stack, and all changes are permanent. Since Recolor is often used as an experimentation tool, this behavior limits the freedom and forces users to avoid it and loose applied settings.
The team is now aware of the situation and hopefully some changes will be made.

This would so greatly improve the experience of using this panel, I hope it is added soon!

This is not completed and is marked as under review on a different, more up-voted submission: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/31930399--recolor-artwork-undo

It is great that you will implement this feature. I note that it has taken 5 years since it was requested. I understand that Illustrator is a popular software with many people asking for many requests. But 5 years, for what I think should be a simple feature to implement, but I am not a programmer. Recolor is an essential tool for any designer who needs to create colorways and not having an undo/redo makes the tool so frustrating to use.

THIS IS NOT COMPLETED!
When you change colors in Advanced Mode, you can't undo them. This is especially annoying if you are going to try color themes. So I just don't do that.
I can't understand how Adobe can fail so much in this kind of basic functionality.
Every time I need to use Illustrator I lose my mind over this kind of shit. Small basic things that would probably be easy to fix.

where is the undo/redo functionality? for me it is still not working when I am inside recolor panel and trying new colors. It is crazy this thing is not there in 2021. Try to make your products logical and intuitive for people who work with it, we pay for this every month :(

Huh?
NOT COMPLETED.
It's 2021 and you can't undo/redo inside the Recolor Artwork Panel.
You can undo once you commit the panel changes. -

Having an undo option in the Recolor Artwork tool would be very helpful.

The recolor artwork panel would be so much more useful in commercial art creation process if the Recolor Artwork tool had Undos. Even 5 steps of Undo would be helpful. In a commercial production art workflow we do not have time to make elaborate multiple copies, color change decisions need to be made on the fly and in iterative fashion.
Or instead of "Undo" be able to "Save Current Color Application/Palette" into a side car file then "Revert To Original" and keep on trying colors. -

Please!!! undo is an absolute requirement when recolouring textile designs. Currently I have to cancel out a start over again. A real time waster.

This would be so useful! It's been on my wish list for a long time. I've had to train myself to be cautious in Recolor Artwork, lest I lose a color combination I like because I can't step backward.

You should be able to experiment with colour changes within the Recolor dialog box. But you can’t because there is no undo. So any changes you make if you want to go back to a previous setting you can’t.

Seriously, I just can't undo changes while this dialogue is on. Make both undo and redo work there!
