It is unbearable!
I have multiple documents which I want to export certain directories with certain settings.
I'm so tired of setting directory and dimensions every time I do so small change to my design and export it as the Illustrator can't do a simple thing and remember those settings.Illustrator should save Export For Screen settings for each document individually, so I don't have to set them all the time.
This can't be impossible. It was already fixed at some point.

This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Color Model selection for JPG is available in Export For Screens -> Advanced settings. Illustrator will allow you to choose - RGB, CMYK or Grayscale color model.

An error occurred while saving the comment A new major update and Adobe is still unable to fix this simple thing. I really wonder where all the money we pay is going? And I start to wonder if there are other options than pay for products that ruin my day almost every time I have to use them.
This should not be hard:
If you make changes to Export for Screen settings, then Illustrator should save them with the document.For example, if I change the folder and add one or two export options in Export for Screens, Illustrator should save these settings, so when I open the same document next time, those settings are kept, and I don't have to set them up again.
It is annoying that I have to re-select the folder each time after restart, but it gets painful when I have more than one formats that I need to export. Sometimes when I make small changes for example to icon sheets I have, the most of the time goes to setting those Export for Screens settings. which should be saved with the AI file.
If it is impossible to get Illustrator to remember those settings, then gives u at least presets we could save and reuse. Now the work flow is really annoying and wastes a lot of time.

Adobe Apps can really ruin your workday every time you need to use them.THIS IS SIMPLE.
Export files in the same place as they were Exported before, if Export for Screens have been used with that file.
I export textures to be used in a 3D software, and every time I need to do some change, I have to set again the Export folder as your stupid app can't remember that simple thing.
An error occurred while saving the comment I have several files where I have Icon Sheets. I update those now and then and export them as PNG.
I export them in few different sizes with different Suffixes, and they are saved quite deep in file hierarchy.It is quite frustrating to set-up those export settings every time again and again for minor change as Illustrator can't remember those settings. It really should do that.
When I do these minor updates, it is often setting up the Export Settings which takes the most of the time.
I really wish this could be fixed soon. This really hinders my working with Illustrator. And it is quite amazing that developer as big as Adobe can't get this kind of simple thing right and just broke it more when trying to fix it.

I have Icon sheets that needs to go to specific directories and It is very frustrating to to set the right export folder every time I made small change and export the Icon Sheet Image.
And what is even more annoying is that I export some sheets in 2 or 3 size and I have to set those sizes and Suffixes again every time after restart.
And that is not all, the settings that opens from the gear icon are preserved, like for example the BG Transparency. As those settings are hidden behind the gear, I often forget to check it, and have to export everything again with right setting.

Save the "EXPORT FOR SCREEN" Settings for Each document separately.So when I open my document, Illustrator remember what settings I was using for Export for Screens last time.
If there aren't any settings set for document, use either documents path, or the user defined "global" export path. ( And give user an option to choose which to use)How this kind of incompetence is even possible?

So if I use "Export for Screens", set the path to some subfolder for example, then close document and open it again, Illustrator has forgot the path and I have to set it again.
The way it now works, is worse for almost all users. Only in the case you want to have your exported files in same folder as you AI document this works. ( IMO no one should want that :) )
How it should work:
i) Make the Illustrator remember last used Export path for each document separately!
ii) Let the user choose if the default path is the path of the document or some other folder.How hard is to get this very simple thing to work ???

This is not the solution, but it might help if you drag that folder you use often to File Explorers quick access so it is easy to open that. See the image. You just Drag and Drop folder there, and then you have easy access to it always. There is similar thing in OS/x also. ( was before windows :) )
For the guys in Adobe, I can't understand why didn't you give users a option?

But if you are working with two or more projects with different export settings, you have to change all those too. Very Frustrating.
...and of course you forget to do that and then you have PDFs all over your folders, when you just wanted some png for mock-up.An error occurred while saving the comment 2020 is out and I was hoping a fix for this. But sadly no fix :(

An error occurred while saving the comment Illustrator could really use some modern UI design elements, like Pie menus for example.
Some, even basic, features are so frustrating to use as the only way to access them is via buttons in panels. With 4K monitor, this leads to a huge amount of travelling with the mouse.
Like, if you want to change the Width of the stroke, you have to do it from the panel. It should be able to do it, for example by pressing a hotkey, dragging on the screen.
And things like Align “tools” should really be in Pie menus, so you wouldn't need to travel all the way to the top of the screen when you want to align something.
Illustrator is quite frustrating to use, as its UI seems to be stuck in the 2000s or something.
...and there is still no color wheel :(

An error occurred while saving the comment For example in situation like in attached image, it is almost impossible to select the right color that you want to edit.
Only way to do it is select and change some value and hope it was right color.
But as the UNDO doesn't work in the Advanced Mode, it this is quite slow and painful way to work...
Recolor Artwork is a great idea for a Tool, but now it has so much bugs and lack of funtionality, that it usually just ruins your day.

It would be nice if Illustrator would remember where I moved it, and open it in same place when opened again.
...some basic UI stuff that seems to be quite hard to implement.

Yes, the Recolor dialog does not have its own undo stack, and all changes are permanent. Since Recolor is often used as an experimentation tool, this behavior limits the freedom and forces users to avoid it and loose applied settings.
The team is now aware of the situation and hopefully some changes will be made.

When you change colors in Advanced Mode, you can't undo them. This is especially annoying if you are going to try color themes. So I just don't do that.
I can't understand how Adobe can fail so much in this kind of basic functionality.
Every time I need to use Illustrator I lose my mind over this kind of shit. Small basic things that would probably be easy to fix.

( or actually I can, I have learned what to expect from Adobe)IMO Every command, tool and action should be bindable to any key without restrictions.
(sorry about tone.... I have had very hard time Illustrator today)
Export For Screens "export to" folder is set to same as document folder every time Illustrator is restarted.
I have document/project specific folders, where I want to export my PNGs every time. For example I want to always export PNGs from some document to "Textures" folder. Now I have to set that folder again every time I open illustrator and do some small change.
IF I SET SOMETHING UP, I DONT WANT MY APPLICATIONS TO CHANGE THAT SETTING FOR ME! NEVER!
MAKE IT SO THAT IF I USE FOLDER "X" TO EXPORT MY STUFF FROM DOCUMENT A, THIS SAME FOLDER IS USED NEXT TIME I OPEN THE SAME DOCUMENT IN ILLUSTATOR!
How hard it is?
Presets and some other changes were introduced to apparently fix these issues. BUT THEY DON'T FIX THEM. "Export to" folder is NOT saved in the preset. And now the "Export to" folder is same as the document folder, instead keeping the previously used. For me it made things just worse. It was not a FIX, but just broke more stuff. **** I hate Adobe.
How can it be impossible to get simple thing work? This is so frustrating and ruins my day almost every time I have to use Illustrator. I just can't understand why it is so complicated to do simple things.
