Add Ai and EPS formats in Export for Screens / Assets dialog
I realize that .pdf is essentially the same as .eps format, but still it would be useful to have the option to export as .eps.
Latest Beta Build 29.2.34 now allows to export into Ai and EPS formats via Export for Screens / Assets dialog.
Please try to test it and comment on if it works as you expect.
Exporting TIFFs requires more work. If you are interested in having this format included, please upvote this separate request.

I would prefer 'Save artboards as separate AI' command or option, without messing with Asset Export.
And I think I saw a dedicated script for that. -

One way this can work is choosing the PDF format and selecting a PDF option that includes the AI file for editability. I use this option pretty frequently and it works well. Straight AI format might be preferable in some situations but the PDF format can work.

Currently Asset Export seems to be oriented towards web, but it could be equally useful for print situations. I share AI format too when working with other designers.

This shows another misunderstanding of what Illustrator is often used for. Come on Adobe, this is easy!

Yeah I'll just be exporting 9 files as .eps one at a time. C'mon guys.

Frankly there's really no reason not to open up the full suite of file formats that Illustrator is already capable of exporting to. Why is it arbitrarily limited via this panel?

actually this would be need because i do different ideations on multiple artboards. it would be nice to simply drag all the options into the asset export window and instantly have something our vendors can use!
