If this idea from XD could come to Illustrator, I would be a happy designer! It can help to push ideas forward when it's easy to import graphics/text into a layout from an external source. I know that you can easily import graphics into Illustrator, but the ease of just dragging a series of images on a Repeat Grid (or even a shape).

A shape can function as a Clipping Mask when an image is dragged into it (much like in XD or even Indesign). Populating text fields from a text document may also be helpful.

I do most design work in Illustrator these days. XD is fantastic, but I design print/web/multimedia work depending on the client and the day. Using XD is not great for a print layout (it's prototyping for devices/web). You can prototype, but would have to rebuild your work in another program.

It is fantastic when a program simply "gets out of the way" like XD seems to do.

i just got illustrator on my ipad. Loving it. But now I want that wonderful radial and mirror repeat functionality on my desktop too. I believe you're working on it. YAY! Keep up the good work.

YES! Do it! Autodesk's Sketchbook has had this feature for years. Add it to Photoshop, while you're at it.

I have come to love the repeat feature in the iPad version of Illustrator, I hope to see the same feature in the desktop. Maybe its already there and I dont know about it? I am trying to make a horizontal calligraphic repeat "pattern", I could make a pattern in the desktop version but it would make the pattern repeat in vertical as well.

Why isn't the wonderful Radial Repeat and Mirror Repeat from Illustrator for iPad ALSO in Illustrator 2021 ? While it is an amazing feature and so simple to use, it seems to me the same feature parity should be in the full desktop version.

I'm not sure if this falls under effects or tools, but I've seen the videos of this feature for the ipad, and it would be really useful on the desktop version. We pay a FORTUNE for this program, and desktop users should have EVERY feature available for the iPad TABLET. Please add this in the next update.

Please add the following tools to a WINDOWS OS radial repeat, grid repeat, and mirror repeat like you did for the IOS . Not everyone uses an IPad!!! The user interface is not as user friendly as you are making the Ipad interface and we want the time saving tools too!

- Why is this valuable to me? It's clearly an amazing feature but I don't want to go and buy an iPad Pro just to use it when I have a $5000 editing desktop computer at my disposal with a much larger, colour calibrated display.

AFAIK Symmetry is in the works and will surely appear in desktop version.
Until it's not there you can use Transform Effect.

I believe that in Adobe's software like Adobe xd, we can also have a Repeat Grid option which will work fast as the brochure and all other.

this is a powerful feature in XD that I hope exist in Illustrator. This is extremely useful when building design layouts.
