  1. Non-Destructive Path Trim

    It would save me incredible amounts of time if I could simply--and non-destructively--trim a path.

    Example:
    I create a character's arm using a tapered stroke. I then duplicate that tapered stroke so that it can function as a shirt sleeve.
    <Here is where the issue comes in...>
    There's not a good way to trim that duplicated stroke to function as a sleeve. I can add points and delete the stroke, but the width won't match anymore. I can create a clipping mask, but it's a pain and makes adjusting the characters pose needlessly laborious.

  2. Keyboard Shortcut key / hotkey to open the Color Picker

    I wish Illustrator could set up a shortcut key to open the Color Picker window like in Photoshop.

  3. Guided tracing brush (Snap to trace), similar to Photoshop’s Content aware image trace

    The automatic full image tracing in illustrator often does not create useful results. The set of lines is too busy or doesn't line up with where a human would consider the edges to be.

    As an alternative, a brush tool tool that snaps the lines to the underlying image layers would be more helpful. Human input shows the general location of a line, and illustrator can then snap the line to the nearest set of pixels that appears to be an edge, helping make smooth an accurate traces without excess lines.

  4. Set "Registration" (and/or other library color) to Dimension tool

    I would like the ability to set the size color in "Registration" on the lines and text. Unfortunately currently (version 28.1) it is possible to freely set the colors but it is not possible to set the Registration color or other colors present in the document samples. This would be very useful for me when printing color separations for different uses.

  5. Progress bar for the new Smooth tool

    I love the new smooth tool! When it comes to contour lines in a map, It perform so much better than the simplify tool. The only problem is that when I smooth lines in large documents, Illustrator freezes but the cpu is on fire so I'm not sure if it's working or if Illustrator needs to be force quitted.

    Therefore I propose a progress bar for that tool which appears after one has moved the Smoothing slider.

  6. Scale strokes and effects, hotkey while dragging.

    When using the scale tool, and clicking and dragging, there should be a hotkey that toggles 'scale strokes and effects'. It would be helpful to show this hotkey option as a tooltip that appears near the mouse cursor while dragging.

    All too often I will have to undo, then go into the transform panel or the preferences to check or uncheck the box, then go back and scale the object again.

    We need more smart tools in Transform Each
    - Offset origin transform
    (unnecessary extra vertex to do array transform circular for Example)

  8. Better implementation of Actions

    Do a better implementation of Actions. More like Photoshop.

    Some of the menu itens are not recorded in Actions, and others even with the Insert Menu item, still won't record the custom settings of it, and everytime you play that action, it will bring default values to it and open context menu to you to reenter parameters.
    This must be implemented correctly, direclty with the record and not that patch "Insert Menu Item" option that exist today.

  9. Color Picker digits round up

    Hi, I like Illustrator for many reasons, but I find one little thing is annoying. So often I need to prepare the design files for my printer. And because the color picker doesn't have the feature of auto rounding up the digits, the color I used always has decimals, instead of a rounded up number in CMYK mode. It is not easy for the printer to process these color data. I have to round up each color manually, which is time-consuming and I might miss some elements.     Je souhaiterai pouvoir sélectionner de multiples points avec l'outil sélection directe et que la commande joindre (Commande -J) fasse la jointure pour tous les couples de points ayant même abscisse et même ordonnée.

  11. Keeping corner points while dragging an arc.

    When I have an arc that has a corner point at one end, dragging the arc changes the line to an unwanted shape even when "Constrain Path Dragging" is turned on in settings. I ALWAYS need those corner points to remain corner points.

    I suggest using the SHIFT key to keep them as corners.

    Many versions ago (late 80s, early 90s), corner points always remained corner points, and I liked it that way very much!! : ) It made my job so much easier. Since then paths have been a real hassle.

  12. Allow Magic Wand to select items only currently visible in the viewport

    it would be super helpful if the Magic Wand could be set to only select what you can see on screen currently. This way you won't accidentally select an item without knowing.

  14. Add more Live Shape Presets

    Please add shape presets for common shapes such as donuts, pies, tear-shapes, double stars (stars with two different lengths of points), square stars, cloud shapes, trapezoids, double arrows, cogs, and crescents. This would streamline the process of creating flat vector icons if there were shape presets for these common shapes. The idea would be to add adjustable anchor points to preset versions of the shapes mentioned above that the user could adjust in the menu or control panel.   16. Scale Multiple Objects Separately

    I wish there was a way to simultaneously scale a set of objects. Say I have 20 shapes that are all different sizes, but I want them to all be 200pxH x _W. It would be nice to be able to select them all and choose the point to scale from, as usual, but then have them all scale to the size given - so some might shrink, some might enlarge, etc. depending on their previous sizes. And it would be nice to turn on or off the skew/constrain proportions. Seems kinda surprising that this functionality isn't in Ai. If…

  17. Color Theme tool like in InDesign

    Would love to see this implemented in Illustrator as I, like many others, like to import JPEGS or screen grabbed colour samples to take colors from it manually. It would be awesome to have a colour theme generated from those images that could work within Illustrator and then used across the adobe library. Also this might be something that could also allow you to select an artboard of choice and generate the top 5 colors of that illustration.

  18. リフレクトツール使用時のダイアログで「リフレクトの軸」の設定が前回と同じにならず、毎回変わってしまう

    今までのリフレクトツールは前回使用した「リフレクトの軸」が記憶されており、使うたびに決めなおす必要がありませんでした。しかし、アップデート後に使おうとすると、使用時のダイアログで設定が一定ではなく、毎回変わってしまい困っています。水平・垂直が変わるだけでなく、角度の任意の数値まで毎回異なる状態です。リフレクト軸を前回と同じ設定で使うなら、ダイアログが出てもいちいち確認せずreturnキーを押すだけで素早く反転できていたので、ちゃんと前の設定のまま使える様に戻してもらいたいです。

    In the symbol pallet you can select to sort symbols by name. It would be wonderful if this option was also available for your brush pallet.

  20. Trim paths

    Like in After Effects the option to trim a line. When you have an extra line on an object, the one above can be trimmed. Ending with a line with two color ends.
    No more stacking multiple lines and having to edit them all if the shape changes.
