Drawing like in CAD
Hi Team, I use also CAD Software and drawing sketches is in most CAD SW more sophisticated than drawing in AI. I mean e.g. when drawing a circle in CAD you can just drop on and then define the origin and radius etc. This coordinate based parametric drawing in CAD is straight forward. So in the end I think drawing sketches like they are drawn in CAD like SolidWorks or Alibre would improve AI a lot. Regards Dirk

Close all other document tabs.
I would find it really useful, if I could right click on a document tab and select "close other tabs" as I often have lot's of tabs open and eventually only want to work on a single tab. Instead of closing all one by one, this could be solved with a single click.

Recolor using color wheel: move multiple color stops
Currently we can only move either ONE colour stop or ALL colour stop(s) in linked condition. It would be great if we could only link SOME of them for moving.
It would be much more convenient when recolouring colour stops of particular hue of a complex artwork.

Implement a "quit function" command
Often there is no way to quit an intense function that is taking too long to complete. One needs to quit the entire program in order to get it to stop. Why isn't there a "quit function" command that immediately overides all other processes and stops the function that is not working?

Combine all Thumbnail Preview Options
There are multiple ways to remove thumbnail previews on the Layers, Appearance and Links palettes and these have to be set on every file.
As a huge drag on screen redraw performance, these should be a single option / button accessible without going into the prefs panel.
Perhaps with an opt-out tick box per palette to fine tune. For example: Users could have thumbs persist on the layers palette, while the others toggle on a button.

PNG options, add resolution 96dpi
I believe we first had the resolutions 72, 150 and 300 in the PNG options dialog. Now I see 4, 18 and 36 have been added. A frequently used resolution that is missing is 96dpi. Please add.

allow text outline color to be placed "under" the fill color in Appearance palette
few years (and illustrator versions) ago it was possible to put text outline color "under" fill, so outline would not interference with typeface, and text stays readable.
Altough you can see "stroke" bar and "fill" bar, but they are unmovable.2 votes -

When exporting the saving dialogue doesn't take you to the source location
When exporting, the saving dialogue doesn't take you to the source location which used to be the case. It takes you to Downloads instead which is not convenient for file organization.

Wand tool selects text
I often need to change the color of multiple objects at once and using universal swatches is not an option (several artboards using the same swatches need to be changed to different colors). The wand tool is perfect for this except that it completely ignores live text. Even using select > same > fill color doesn't capture everything (maybe a bug). Including text when using the wand tool seems like a no brainer. It would be really useful for selecting text of the same size, weight, font, and other parameters as well.
2 votesRecent versions of Illustrator have the dedicated Select Same submenu for text objects, specifically Select > Same > Text Fill Color.
This still won’t work properly if your text objects have complex appearance (a separate fill over characters counts as an object-level fill), but works for most cases.
Magic Wand though indeed ignores text objects completely. If you still want it to be able to do so, please vote and comment. There are some questions to be solved for that, like 'what should the wand do, if a clicked text characters of different colors mixed'?

The property bar can be made better.
I am a designer from Russia and I am delighted with the "properties" panel. The idea of making the panel universal is fascinating. I see the future of Ai in the fact that the program itself will open the necessary settings, depending on the selected object. Unfortunately, the "properties" panel is far from ideal, but I am sure that it is the future. My idea is this. This panel cannot be used by beginners, so the explanations are meaningless. I think all explanations should be removed, and functions should be replaced with buttons. Then, perhaps, this panel will fit everything that you may need for work. Not only what seemed important, but everything. The rest of the panels and windows will cease to exist, since they will simply not be needed. It is necessary to make a deep analysis of all possible objects and all possible properties to them. I think this is quite real. As a last resort, leave two panels: "Properties" and "Appearance". The first is responsible for the shape and location. The second is for the fill and applied effects. If there is no one to entrust this, then I am ready to help, to the best of my ability.

Can we please have a drop down menu for different measurement entities on the control bar next to transform values of Height and width?
Can we please have a drop down menu for different measurement entities on the control bar next to transform values of Height and width rather than having to enable ruler and click on the ruler to change measurement units?

Do the 'Effects menu' as the After Effect's
Why don't you make the AI effects menu as practical as the AE's menu? It is much easier to type in what do you want.

Full Unicode Support and Unicode Hexadecimal Input Support with the Alt key
Please add full Unicode support to Adobe Illustrator. I understand many Unicode characters are not supported by different fonts but it would be great if there was support for Unicode characters such as angle brackets, ⟨a, b⟩ that are supported by certain fonts that incorporate a wide range of Unicode characters. For example, the Noto font family supports over 64,000 Unicode characters. It would also streamline the workflow if there was a way in Illustrator to enter Unicode characters using the Alt key (in Microsoft Word, if you type the hexadecimal code of a Unicode character, then press Alt+X, it renders the corresponding Unicode character). Thank you!

Accessibility of tutorial videos, for users with hearing impairment
I am a new creative cloud user and need to use Illustrator as part of my university course so wanted to access the learn ‘how to’ tutorials, but found the video tutorials for Illustrator does not have ‘closed captions’ nor printable version of the text. I checked some of the other Adobe programs within creative cloud and they are the same, so I contacted Adobe online chat who sent me on to an online dedicated adviser. I was then told no accessibility options available for the tutorial videos.
Please could you pass my feedback to Adobe….
Accessibility on the learn 'how to' video tutorials for all Adobe software and features, including Illustrator is very important to enable all users to access and be able to use features efficiently and quickly.
As a creative cloud software user who has a hearing impairment, it would be helpful to have printable text of tutorial videos so they can be read alongside the tutorials or have closed captions, because I can’t hear what is being said,
It is a real shame these are not fully accessible, as it has rendered all the tutorial videos useless for those with hearing impairments.
Please can this be added as a feature on all tutorial videos across creative cloud.
Otherwise, the adobe software looks impressive, it will just take me a lot longer to understand how to use each Adobe software item, and each part of each one.

Untie the Transform Patterns checkbox in General Options and Transform Effect dialog.
Sometimes (actually pretty often) it is necessary to alter a pattern size for one single object. So you go to Appearance -> Fill -> Effects -> Distort and Transform -> Transform and there you have checkboxes to chose whether to transform object or pattern or both and that is great.
But once you have done this (for one single object) this setting changes the general Option under Preferences->General and this setting affects the entire app, not this file only and you must change it back each time. And that is not that great.2 votes -
