  1. Proportional Push & Rotate Tool

    I’m relatively new to Illustrator, not sure if such a feature already exists, but I’d like to suggest a tool that allows selected objects to be proportionally pushed away from the group’s center point or a custom pivot point — without scaling them — and optionally rotate them around that same point. For rotation, it would be great to have options whether the objects keep their own rotation (independent) or rotate as children following the group’s rotation. Additionally, it would be helpful to allow setting horizontal and vertical movement ratios (e.g., move 1 unit horizontally while moving 0.35 units vertically)…

  2. Bevel tool for Embossed Shapes and Text - Fully interactive

    A tool to create a nice 3D-looking edge to an object, making it look raised from the page.

    It can raise the object visually, by using the colour of the object and creating light and dark sides to it.

    It would be great to be able to change the light direction, light height as well as other parameters such as the type of bevel - round, chiselled, etc. to give your object a physical appearance.

    To create the tool with teh possibility to drag handles directly on the object to adjust depth, contrast, and light elevation in real-time.

    This would…

  3. Default Sort

    Allow users to define what they want to see on the home page, and allow defaults to that definition to be saved. For example, in Version 29, when I open the program, it defaults to "Your Files" and they are sorted by "Name". Whenever I open the program, that's what shows. It's perfect for me. In Version 30, now that doesn't work. It opens to "Recent Files" and then I have to click "your Files" or "View All Files" for that to show. Then I have to click on the sort (because some genius changed the default to in the…

  4. Display fonts in a floating panel

    Requesting a feature where fonts can be displayed as a floating panel.

    And

    1- Show the preview of the fonts on the right side inside "Font Selector" panel.

    2- Ability to write the text inside "Font Selector" panel and display that text as a preview.

    3- Following #2, Ability to drag the "custom text" + "desired font" from "Font Selector" panel to the Illustrator artboard

  5. OMC Optical Music Recognition

    OMC Optical Music Recognition, where the software will automatically recognize scanned or digital photographs of music sheets and intelligently convert it to Adobe Illustrator Vector Graphics or postscript format so you can change the lyrics font to what ever font you want to use and even use an intelligent music tool to make adjustments and changes to the notes.

    Just as I requested OCR technology in 1990 and it happened and how I told IBM that you should be able to make computers understand what you are saying by analyzing your sound waves of your speech so as to be…

  6. Make UI text size scalable

    Allow for scaling of text in the UI, especially the Layers panel.
    I have to strain to read the layer descriptions. Since I work a lot in After Effects I have to name all my layers. It would be easier to work if I could just glance over instead of working hard to read the little font sizes. I should note that I have a super high definition screen.

    Also, make thumbnail size in Layers panel to save between launches: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33328054

  7. Dynamic Dimension Tool

    Happy New Year
    Just a thought for the upcoming year.
    Add the ability to automatically extend the length of a dimension after the dimension is set and have the dimension to adapt to the new measurements.
    Currently the measured distance is static, WYSIWYG. Would make placing objects in Illustrator a lot easier.

  8. An option to not highlight the active artboard in Trim View

    It would be great if the Artboard Display Highlight Color could be hidden when in Trim View. So it doesn't interfere with the visual look of the artwork and yet could be larger in the standard display mode to enable easier workflow.

  9. Recent Color Swatch Used Keybind

    In short, a recent color swatch keybind would increase efficiency during creating projects. Currently I am working on a project where I have to use the same colors repeatedly. If there was a keybind to automatically change the color to the most recently used color it would be nice.

    Ex. You have to type out a text on a card and you want to change the color of certain words quickly without having to go into the swatches board and having to highlight.

    Instead of that you could:

    Use a color once
    Highlight the new uncolored text
    Do a keybind…

  11. Allow to manually sort and rename Variable Stroke Width profiles

    It would be great if we had the ability to manually sort VSW profiles.

    For now the only way to do it is to delete all the native ones and carefully name your own (and the UI doesn’t offer us to change the name of a profile later).

  16. Support background blur in SVGs exported from Figma

    <svg width="367" height="255" viewBox="0 0 367 255" fill="none" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg">
    <rect x="150.75" y="18.5726" width="216" height="216.897" fill="#7580FF"/>
    <foreignObject x="-51.0876" y="-51.0876" width="356.218" height="356.218"><div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" style="backdrop-filter:blur(25.54px);clip-path:url(#bgblur_0_1_16_clip_path);height:100%;width:100%"></div></foreignObject><circle data-figma-bg-blur-radius="51.0876" cx="127.021" cy="127.021" r="127.021" fill="#FF7575" fill-opacity="0.7"/>
    <defs>
    <clipPath id="bgblur_0_1_16_clip_path" transform="translate(51.0876 51.0876)"><circle cx="127.021" cy="127.021" r="127.021"/>
    </clipPath></defs>
    </svg>

    (I'm sympathetic that general <foreignObject> support is nigh impossible 🙂 Figma uses this only for background blurs and angular gradients)

  18. Exact ARC export in DXF

    Illustrator internally represents curves as Bézier paths, while CAD/CNC workflows rely on true ARC entities (constant-radius circular arcs).
    At the moment, there is no reliable way to export Illustrator geometry containing circular arcs to DXF while preserving them as exact ARC entities. All curves are approximated as splines or segmented polylines, even when the geometry is mathematically circular.
    This creates a serious issue for CNC workflows, where exact radii and true arcs are required for correct toolpaths, tolerances, and part fitting.

    A highly valuable feature would be:
    • Detection of constant-radius Bézier curves
    • Optional conversion of those curves to…

  19. Share for review needs rotate tool in the web cooperation mode

    I use the share for review usually for the very complex packaging designs.

    In many cases the package has text on all sides and that means that the texts are sometimes 180 or 90 degrees rotated. Its very inconvenient for the client to comment those texts. So the web interface definitely needs a simple 180-90 degrees rotation tool.

  20. Give the choice to change the export resolution with or without changing the number of pixels.

    When exporting as an image llustrator will always change the pixel amount when you set a resolution higher or lower than 72 ppi. Photoshop has an option that is missing in Illustrator, the option to check/uncheck “Resample” when changing the resolution. When Unchecked only the ppi metatadata is changed and the pixel amount stays the same. When checked Photoshop behaves like Illustrator does and changes the amount of pixels when the resolution is changed. It would be a welcome addition to have this choice in Illustrator.
