"Export for Screens" Control Dimensions and Resolution with Additional Profiles
Have presets for other files just like "Adobe PDF Presets" so you can make definitions for a variety of file types.
Alternatively build out the "File > Export > Export for Screens > Format Settings" to include things like resolution, image quality, etc. JPG 100 to JPG 20 should be in these settings and not in the "Export for Screens" dialog.
This would address some of the issues with "Export for Screens" defined in the following thread: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2383113
P.S.
The IOS and Android presets are a good idea, but I would expand this so people can set up their own default values, and create their own groupings (ex: android, ios, icons, logos, etc.). This would give users control and avoid mishaps like the following thread: https://forums.adobe.com/message/8939082#8939082

Love the "export for screens" feature as it allows me to export multiple SVGs at once. However, it automatically trims the svg and does not keep the canvas (artboard) size (nor are there settings that I can adjust.) VERY problematic.

I agree with this. So far as I've been able to tell, there's no way to control both dimension AND resolution of the screen output.
Example, for a certain social media profile, I need to have a JPG or PNG that is 400x400px @ 96ppi.
I can output a 400x400px file OR I can output a 96ppi file, but I can't output a file that is 400x400px @ 96ppi.

I am a graphic design and often have to export hundreds of different sizes and resolutions of icons and logos for mobile app development, and I was so excited to see the "export for screens" feature, but the immediately disappointed that it was basically useless to me since you can specify the size AND resolution. Please add more options to this feature!! Thanks!!!

Recently came across the below feature request posted about 1 month prior to this one.

Also... Currently bespoke settings relate to the installation rather than the file, so if I create settings to output windows icons, I have to re-create on a different device, even though I am using the same document. This seems bonkers given that most designers move between multiple devices routinely - the expection should be that the output settings they have created remain with the file, not the computer.

Hi Claire,
This is a relatively new feature. Not sure exactly which version it was added in but the following article suggests June 2016:
https://www.thoughtco.com/use-illustrator-cc-export-for-screens-feature-4089933If you are running a previous version to the Adobe CC 2015 released in June 2016 it will not be present.
If you are running a later version, it could be a bug or may have been removed.I suspect you are running a version released prior to June 2016.

I don't have the export for screens option in my file menu. Is there a special setting I need to enable?
